The department
As Embedded Software Developer you will join our Development and Engineering team, currently consisting of 30 colleagues with various nationalities and educational backgrounds within electronic, software and mechanical design. In D&E we work in smaller project groups electronics, software, and mechanical engineers together to get a holistic approach to our products and tools and to benefit from each other’s knowledge and expertise.

As a team, we support the global company, by providing customized high technological solutions often in the form of launch of new and innovative technology. The work environment is informal, creative, fun, and with clear measurable targets.

The position
The main success drivers in this position are to maintain and improve the data communication infrastructure between several embedded devices on a system which is rapidly growing, and therefore the overall architecture must be well structured.

The Embedded Software Developer works closely with the Senior Embedded Software Developer and external firmware consultants on both new and existing technology projects related to system architecture to cloud, specifications and implementation.

The candidate
You are a passionate embedded Software Developer with some experience in efficient data structure ranging from low level serial communication to local network to cloud solutions.
You would like the challenge of creating reliable data connection for controlling and visualisation of robotic operations for extreme harsh environments.

In addition, you get energized from working in close collaboration with the best hardware and software designers, consultants, and sub-contractors. A “can-do” attitude combined with willingness to further learn and excel within SW/FW design are key factors for success.

The preferred candidate has the following profile:

• University degree in computer science or related field
• A few years of experience with programming applications and microcontrollers in C++/C
• Expierenced and interest in selecting protocols for the different protocol layers
• Proactive with an energetic attitude towards implementing embedded softwaresytems and continual improvements.
• Ability to work in teams across departments
• Willingness to learn and develop within SW/FW design

Experience with one or more below is considered a plus but not a must:

• Linux application programming in C++17 (TCP/IP, POSIX, socket, IPC, USB)
• Software design (interfaces, docker, gRPC, understanding of RTOS)
• Release management (buildtools, gcc, git, Azure DevOps, Linux server administration, Docker)
• Traffic design (work with limited bandwidth, traffic priorities, timing constraints)
• Bare metal microcontroller programming in C and assembler (dsPIC33 series, MPLABX, UART, SPI, RS485)
• Programming close to HW (logic analyser, oscilloscope)
• IOT and Automotive data protocols
• FPGA programming
• Experiences with MPLAB and dsPIC-Microcontroller series
• TMS320 and C2000 IDE
• Know how to use a oscilloscope or logic ananlyzer
• Bash shell scripting
