Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking curious and energized members to enrich our diverse team! As an industrial designer, you should be able to build systems and products in 3D and create digital visualizations for engineering, simulation, and marketing. This involves creating, modifying, analyzing the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction. You should also be able to learn to develop 3D applications and build and maintain a library of 3D solutions that others can access and use. As a part of the tasks, the industrial de-signer should be able to or learn to advise on technology with strategic focus on both functional and non-functional requirements to define the architecture of designer software solutions. Reporting to the Solutions Development Manager, you will support our unit in designing and implementing new solutions and ways of working. Your responsibilities • Ensure the smooth operation of engineering software. • Regularly update and patch software. • Develop custom plugins, scripts, or solutions to enhance functionality and model exportation and integration between engineering and design software. • Perform independent layout studies. • Manage and maintain 3D models and project-specific data. • Have flexibility in working tasks and able to present subjects/tasks in design reviews.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, or related field. Rele-vant experience can compensate for formal education.
• Experience with layout and / or equipment design, 3D modelling, and drawing production.
• Skills in project setup, administration, development, and support.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Good communication skills in English are required. Norwegian language skills will be appreciated.
• Skills related to the job: Design thinking, design verification, Systems Engineering Software Engi-neering planning & prioritizing, project management, cyber security, and agile methodology.
• Nice to have qualifications is proficiency with engineering software(s) and programming languages such as AVEVA, Visual Studios, Python, AUTODESK, Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Un-real Engine or similar.
