Student assistant - Chemical safety, Corporate Health Safety and Environment

Would you like to have direct impact on safe chemical working environment in a large Danish pharmaceutical company? And would you like to gain valuable business experience in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)? Then you could be our student assistant.

Your new role

During your employment we will include you as an active part of our daily work, thus you will be gaining valuable experience both within the HSE area and business-wise. With passion for health and safety and understanding of chemistry you will contribute to various tasks mainly in the department’s chemical safety team.

Your tasks will primarily consist of:

  • Administration and update of safety data sheets for all chemicals across the global organisation.
  • Technical support, data analysis and information mining

In addition, you will support the chemical team and the HSE department in ad hoc tasks consisting of:

  • Calculation of classification and labelling for mixtures
  • Intranet management (MS SharePoint), MS flows, MS Power platform
  • Administrative tasks for seminars, webinars and meetings in the department

You will be working approximately 15 hours per week, which can be arranged flexibly according to your lectures, exams etc. Similarly, we expect flexibility and commitment from you in terms of business deadlines. We expect you to be able to stay with us approx. 2 years before you graduate.

Your future team

You will be working in Lundbeck’s headquarter in Valby, Copenhagen, reporting to Director of Corporate Health, Safety & Environment and be a member of our chemical team.

Our department ensures HSE compliance and is responsible for the development of Lundbeck’s HSE strategy and the execution of related strategic projects, campaigns, and training.

We are 12 highly skilled and dedicated employees who support the entire organisation across the world. Compliance and continuous improvements are a fundamental part of how we work with our advisory services, project activities, processes and Lundbeck’s HSE management system, which are certified according to ISO 45001 and 14001.

Corporate HSE is anchored in Product Development and Supply as a part of Facility and Health, Safety & Environment, an organisation with 130 employees that support Lundbeck’s value chain. Furthermore, Corporate HSE reports to the global HSE Council that consists of executive management representatives and elected employees.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

Our preferred candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of general chemistry and basic knowledge on toxicological and ecotoxicological assessment methods
  • A curious mindset when it comes to the role of chemicals in a HSE perspective
  • An understanding of IT-systems and experience in using Microsoft Office 365 - preferrable also in designing and setting up Workspaces (SharePoint)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Danish
  • Undergoing relevant education, e.g. MSc in engineering or similar.
