Unique Human Capital A/S

Are you ready to take responsibility for designing advanced power converter solutions that will set new standards in efficiency and sustainability?
As the Technical Lead for Power Electronics at DEIF, you will lead the technical design and development of innovative power converters, critical to harnessing renewable energy and ensuring sustainable power management. This is your chance to make a tangible impact on the future of clean energy technologies, working with dedicated teams and international technology partners to deliver groundbreaking solutions.

With direct report to Vice President, R&D Hardware, you will collaborate closely with DEIF’s Converter Team and external partners, such as AVL and Silicon Austria Labs. You will lead the technical development of power converters, ensuring the delivery of scalable, efficient, and innovative solutions to meet DEIF’s rigorous standards and align with the evolving demands of renewable energy technologies.

Your main tasks are:

  • Lead the design and development of kW-MW power converters and related electronics
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and innovation in power electronics solutions
  • Oversee R&D validation, including simulations, documentation, and calculations, to ensure product reliability and efficiency
  • Provide expertise in areas such as magnetic design, EMC, and EMI to optimise product performance
  • Define technical specifications for power electronics products and guide cross-functional teams in product development
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose solutions to mitigate technical challenges in power electronics projects
  • Mentor and support Junior Engineers, ensuring continuous development within DEIF’s engineering teams
  • Identify and propose intellectual property and patents related to converter hardware development

You are expected to have significant experience designing and developing power electronics systems, with expertise in power converter technologies and topologies in kW to MW range. Your knowledge of R&D processes, including simulations and quality validation, will be vital to ensure product performance. Furthermore, you have gained experience collaborating with external technology partners and mentoring engineering talent.

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a related field, with advanced certifications or experience in renewable energy systems being an advantage. Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and PLECS is required, and knowledge of EMC and EMI testing is desirable.

You are a person with a passion for innovation and renewable energy technologies, always striving to push the boundaries of what is possible. You have strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to your work and excel at leading cross-functional teams. Your excellent communication abilities enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, while your mentoring skills help inspire and develop those around you.

DEIF provides a dynamic, value-driven, forward-thinking workplace where innovation and sustainability are at the core of its mission. In this role, you will have significant opportunities for personal and professional growth, working on impactful projects that contribute to DEIF’s position as a leader in the green energy sector.
