Managing Director
For an international producer of turnkey solutions for internal logistics in factories and warehouses, we are looking for a Managing Director who can grow revenue and develop this well-established, project-oriented company to the next level.
The job headings are business development, commercial work, increasing the level of automation/intelligence in the solutions, running the daily business and project management/execution.
As Managing Director of the company, you will play a key role in driving growth, ensuring operational excellence and leading the team towards achieving ambitious goals. There is a desire to bring new perspectives to the company and the market, both in terms of optimising and digitalising processes and how to increase revenue.
The company is fully owned by the large Danish manufacturing group AVK (DKK 9 billion in revenue) and works closely with AVK on product development by using AVK's production as test sites and showcases. This collaboration can become even closer and has the potential to increase revenue significantly.
Your primary responsibility will be to effectively manage the company, business development and drive both local and international expansion of sales.
This is a business development and commercially orientated Managing Director role, but also a role where you are expected to be hands-on with the operation of the business. The personal drive is to motivate and ensure a team that works to develop and grow the company.
The products and solutions are mechanically very well designed with long durability and high reliability. The next level is to deliver fully automated solutions requiring the company to build competence and resource in automation and more intelligent solutions.
Your profile
- Proven experience as Managing Director or similar leadership role is a plus, but you may also be a project manager or commercially responsible and ready to take a step up.
- An engineering degree, preferably in automation/control or manufacturing, is a plus - but experience and personal qualities are most important.
- Solid experience from a project-oriented company delivering machines as stand-alone or combined in turn-key projects.
- Solid hands-on experience with project execution, project follow-up and project finance.
- Global sales also require a Managing Director with international experience and mindset.
- Demonstrated success in scaling and growing businesses with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
- A clear and decisive Managing Director with the ability to execute in the short term while maintaining and expanding the long-term perspective.
To be successful in this role, you need to understand the customers, their needs and the problem they need solved, and you must be able to run a project effectively from the first customer meeting to start-up. Business acumen and experience in customer-facing sales work is also important.
