We are looking for engineers to strengthen our EITA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and Automation) section within the field of Cable, loop and termination design. As an engineer in Aibel Asker, you will contribute to our exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), electrification and other industry projects.

About the position
Engineers working with cable design in Aibel develop solutions for projects in FEED and EPC phases. You will develop cable philosophies & strategies to the required level, as well as development of detail design documentation to ensure a safe design according to client and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Cable design and installation philosophies
• Cable selection, routing and required calculations
• Follow-up of vendors
• Interface with other disciplines, Construction, MC, Commissioning and other contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Technical College combined with minimum 4 years’ relevant background
• Experience with use of cable routing tools and 3D modelling
• Experience and thorough knowledge of cable design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNV and IEC

• Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written
• Collaborative and open to working in a multicultural team environment
• A natural team player, but possess the ability to work independently
• Systematic and accurate, with high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
• Proactive, seeking advice and share own experiences with others
