We are looking for experienced engineers to strengthen our Pipe Stress & Support Department in Asker. As a Stress Engineer you will be a part of a specialized department within the Piping Section. Your work will be crucial component in ensuring the reliable operations of piping system in Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind Projects.
About the position
In this position, you will work in interdisciplinary areas in EPC projects and/or studies within oil and gas or renewable energy sectors. At Aibel, we focus on good teamwork and effort. Many opportunities will be available for the right person, including the possibility to take on leadership roles within projects at Aibel.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Identify and select stress-critical lines from Process P&IDs based on NORSOK/other guidelines
- Perform comprehensive stress analysis of critical pipelines connected to compressors and pumps, flare networks, pressure equipment and vessels, etc. using Caesar II software
- Advise designers regarding flexibility and pipe support requirements for non-critical lines
- Perform detailed checking of calculations made by other stress engineers
- Maintain a close interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve an optimal design
- Close cooperation with the construction yard to solve vibrations and other problems
- Perform dynamic calculations involving slugging, surge, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree
- Around 5-15 years of EPC new build and modification experience
- Experienced user of Caesar II software. Knowledge of Finite element software would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite.
- Good knowledge of several necessary standards such as API, ASME, NEMA-SM23, NORSOK etc is essential.

- Flexible and Solution oriented
- Sound communication skills. Being able to speak and write English fluently is essential for this job
