Overview
Our Group of metallurgists in NOV Flexibles is looking for a new colleague to cover a temporary maternity leave position at our offices in Brøndby, Denmark. The successful candidate will thrive on demanding and challenging tasks and will be part of a team of highly qualified engineers and technicians with a wide range of skills and experiences. If you want to help us take charge and set new standards in the field of offshore metallurgy and corrosion mechanisms, this maternity cover role with the NOV Metallurgy Group might be the opportunity you're looking for.
This is a fixed-term 1 year contract position to cover a maternity leave, with the potential for extension depending on business needs. We are seeking an individual who can hit the ground running and seamlessly integrate into our team during this transition period.
About the Role
Our tasks and projects expand the boundaries of what’s possible with available materials and technologies – and you get to be part of it. Your influence will be felt in nearly every part of the production, from sales, design, manufacturing and until pipe installation.
Your daily tasks may include:
- Investigation of corrosion reliability of materials within flexible pipes.
- Investigations on stress corrosion cracking, sulphide stress cracking, corrosion fatigue, and welding process reliability of materials.
- Planning and design of your own tests in our in-house laboratory in cooperation with our skilled technicians and experienced colleagues.
- Consolidating test results and creating PowerPoint presentations for our stakeholders based on these results.
- Supporting our sales department, project department, pipe designers on topics within corrosion, materials quality, and selection.
- Supporting our factories in Kalundborg, Denmark and ACU, Brazil on a wide variety of technical questions.
In short, you can be a Jack of all trades, or just a Master on one. We would like to hear from you.
We expect that you:
- Are a chemical or mechanical engineer/materials scientist with solid professional skills and a particular interest in and knowledge of corrosion and electrochemistry.
- Are persistent and structured in your approach to any task and feel good about getting the task fully over the finish line.
- Are good at grasping and handling complex and complicated problems.
- Are comfortable with a highly varying daily work environment with a mix of urgent, routine, and complex tasks.
- Are good at communicating with colleagues having a wide range of different professional back grounds.
- Are quite proficient in English, as this is our corporate language.
- Enjoy working independently as well as in teams.
