LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE ROLE
A core part of Dalberg's mission is to help build future leaders in the social impact sector and maximize the impact that they and Dalberg can have on the world. Dalberg has established and continues to expand a robust learning and development team focused on designing, coordinating, and implementing our global and regional training offerings. This function is led by the Global Learning and Development Manager, who collaborates closely with regional and business-specific training teams and governance committees.
The Learning & Development (L&D) Associate will play a pivotal role in bringing training initiatives to life across the firm. Working closely under the supervision of the Global L&D Manager, the L&D Associate will be responsible for executing in-person and virtual global training sessions, maintaining and updating high-quality training content and systems, and driving engaging communication strategies. The role also involves ensuring that staff fully utilize available training resources while reinforcing the use of the Dalberg Craft, which guides the quality and consistency of our projects.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have demonstrated ability to work across business functions, including excellent customer service and strong facilitation skills and are highly adept at managing stakeholders across all levels of seniority
  • You have a high level of comfort with and embrace technology and systems as a solution
  • You have experience with training content generation, management, and systems as well as comfort working with communications, marketing and publications professionals
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity, like the space to work independently without too much regular, ongoing interference
  • You are a team player that knows how to build consensus and are willing to give and receive honest feedback, including supporting junior team members with their own growth and performance
  • You are open to travel during the role, notably 6-8 times per year, to execute our in-person trainings

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • 2-3 years of work experience, with at least 1-2 years in a Learning and Development role or program operations role.
  • Experience planning and executing complex in-person and virtual events is highly desirable; experience in Learning & Development is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities. Fluency in English is required, and fluency in French or Spanish is a plus.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience in supporting budgeting and cost estimates.
  • Prior experience in customer or client service roles is highly preferred.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND HOW YOU WILL GROW

    • Coordinating, designing and executing global training programs (50%)
      • Execute 10 global training programs annually, with 6 conducted in-person, in collaboration with the L&D lead for support.
      • Collaborate with the Events Manager and Operations Team to source training locations, analyze costs, and make decisions to support effective delivery.
      • Responsible for managing participant enrollment, executing communications to participants and facilitators, troubleshooting issues day-of, and technical and logistics support.
      • Develop reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as attendance, completion rates, satisfaction, and performance impact.
      • Conduct periodic measurement and evaluation for global trainings, including developing and drafting reporting with L&D Manager for relevant governance committees.
    • Managing design and uptake of global training assets and systems (30%)
      • Oversee the management and promotion of training resources on platforms like Dalberg Academy and Kubicle, ensuring effective uptake by staff across regions.
      • Take responsibility for the execution of smaller, bite-sized training programs that target specific skills or development needs
      • Create consistent and thoughtful communications for both (1) staff inquiries, serving as points of contact and experts on available training assets and systems; and (2) staff adoption of training resources, including coordinating with internal strategic communications teams and knowledge management team, reinforcing alignment with Dalberg Craft
    • Special projects and supporting regional and local training efforts (20%)
      • Support regional training teams by identifying key insights from various trainings to ensure they are effectively scaled across regions.
      • Gather feedback from regional trainings and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
      • Collaborate with regional teams to catalog and distribute relevant training materials.
      • Advise stakeholders on best practices for developing and delivering customized training initiatives, ensuring they align with global L&D standards and regional needs.
      • Lead or participate in special projects aimed at improving training strategies, processes, or content across the firm.
      • Provide on-demand support for ad-hoc training requests or strategic L&D initiatives, ensuring alignment with global goals.
    • COMMITMENT 1: We commit to publishing internal Dalberg DEI reports annually, to hold ourselves accountable, report on progress and share lessons from our regional DEI plans.
    • COMMITMENT 2: We commit to delivering regular training for all staff (including leadership) on how to engender inclusive workplaces and mitigate unconscious bias.
    • COMMITMENT 3: We commit to addressing imbalances in how power and privilege are formally distributed and informally exercised across the firm.
