Senior Compliance Officer, Markets Compliance (permanent position)

We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer in Markets Compliance to advise Nordea Markets in managing Compliance risks and team up with a group of highly skilled Compliance Professionals.

About our team
Meet the Markets Compliance team. Our role is to ensure fair treatment of clients and prese high integrity in the financial markets we operate in. Our unit is a respected and trusted advisor to Nordea Markets.

Our team consists of eight highly skilled Compliance Professionals located across the Nordics and we collaborate closely with other second line colleagues across Group Compliance and Group Risk. Our team is a part of the Large Corporates and Institutions & Business Banking Compliance unit where we strongly believe in building an environment where addressing compliance risks is a natural part of business.

What you’ll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:

• Compliance Advisory: Provide Compliance advisory across Research, Sales and Trading, offer proactive support (through advice and training), and constructive challenge (mainly risk assessment, testing, monitoring, and reporting) to Nordea Markets, collaborating closely with your colleagues
• Regulatory Expertise: Maintain expertise in key regulatory areas affecting capital markets business, ensuring a strong understanding of business best practices and compliance risk management related to products, processes, and regulatory changes
• Cross-Functional Projects: Participate in cross-functional programmes and projects (e.g. regulatory implementations) as needed and facilitate Group Compliance activities across GC impacting Nordea Markets business

Who you are
This is the right role for you if you aspire to become a trusted compliance adviser, and you are able to successfully combine regulatory knowledge with understanding of business and effective compliance risk management. Strong communication skills are key. We hope that you have the ability to tailor complex information for various audiences, influence decisions but also have the willingness and ability to listen and understand others’ point of view. You should enjoy building and maintaining relationships, and be comfortable taking ownership of your work while also being a team player. Moreover, we expect that you present a solution-oriented approach and base your advisory on sound analysis and facts.

Your background and skills include:

• 5+ years of experience within Legal, Risk, Compliance or Audit
• Master's degree in economics, law or similar
• Understanding of MiFID II, MAR and other relevant financial regulations
• Understanding of capital markets business across products, services, systems, infrastructure and general operating model
• Proficiency in English

It would be ideal if you also:

• Mastered applying a risk-prioritisation approach in your day-to-day work
• Have demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and collaboration
• Are comfortable communicating in one of the Nordic languages
