Postdoc in Hyperspectral Raman Imaging - DTU Health Tech
Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU)
Join the 4DMAPPER project to develop a label-free molecular profiler for 4D mapping of transport and metabolism in ex-vivo tissue. Design optical instrumentation, build a Raman microscope, and fabricate metasurface microlens arrays. Required: experience in Raman spectroscopy, optical metasurfaces, or micro/nano-fabrication.
Are you passionate about optical metasurfaces and biosensors, with interest in pushing the boundaries for detection of mass transport and metabolism in tissue by hyperspectral Raman Imaging, you may be our new post-doc.
With the project 4DMAPPER - 4D mapping of transport and metabolism in organ on a chip, we develop a novel, label-free dynamic molecular profiler with high resolution in space and time (4D). 4DMAPPER will enable localized measurements of unlabeled molecules in 3D, and real-time visualization of mass transport in ex-vivo tissue and other 3D materials.
Responsibilities and qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team. Your will be responsible for the design, building and validation novel optical instrumentation for hyperspectral Raman Imaging of ex-vivo tissue. In addition to building a dedicated Raman microscope in the optofluidics lab at DTU Health Tech, you will be responsible for the design and fabrication of optical metasurface microlens arrays optimized for hyperspectral Raman Imaging. You will fabricate metasurface microlens arrays at the DTU Nanolab cleanroom facility. You will work in close collaboration with a fellow post-doc at the department, who develops customized trans-well lab-ware with ex-vivo tissue samples for the project.
Your primary tasks will be:
- Build and optimize Raman hyperspectral imaging setup based on existing prototype, with single focal spot illumination and z-scan.
- Design and fabricate customized microlens arrays, optimized for hyperspectral Raman Imaging: High numerical aperture and low chromatic aberrations.
- Integrate fabricated microlens arrays in setup for high resolution 4D (time and space) hyperspectral Raman imaging without moving parts.
- Validate and optimize hyperspectral Raman Imaging setup to measure transport over gel- and cell barriers (in collaboration with fellow post-doc).
We expect that you have documented experience in experimental physics within minimum two of the following three fields: (i) Raman spectroscopy, (ii) optical metasurfaces, (iii) micro/nano-fabrication.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
