Senior Software Engineer - Hardware Abstraction Layer
Delivering software excellence and pushing the limits of technology to make some of the world’s best hearing aids is what we do in Demant.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who want to develop and strengthen our Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).

You will be deep down the software stack in a crucial and complex part of our software and hardware eco system. Dare you take this job?

Development, defect support and platform improvements
Our HAL platform connects to hearing aids, apps, fitting software and sophisticated internal tools. Seamless Bluetooth solutions are crucial for the end-users to have a great experience of our hearing aids.

We embrace agile software development and use Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and releases the HAL platform 2-4 times per year. The backlog of features and enablers are executed by priority.

The features are platform support of audiological or end user features. The enablers are typically platform improvements for the future and general internal improvements that can be either specific or of an exploratory nature.

Your job can be divided into these three main areas:

• Most of your daily life is analyzing, designing, coding, unit testing and integrating our platform, always done with a testing mindset.
• With an ever-changing Bluetooth environment and incoming defects there will be adjustments, which you must react fast to as part of the team. You will also act as problem solver for other teams consuming HAL.
• At last, you will be part of simplifying HAL to make the solutions more effective and sustainable. In collaboration with the team, you will identify improvements and come up with suggestions to how these should be executed. It will be possible to use Microsoft Copilot for some of part of this work, but far from all.

We need everybody in the team to be on top of technologies to keep on improving and providing best-in-class solutions. To support this, we have a monthly learning day for the team to acquire relevant knowledge either individually or on a team base.

Part of your team is four Software Developers, two Test Developers, a Product Owner and a Scrum Master. They are all very experienced and enthusiastic about their jobs.

Scrum is used as the basic way of working and encourages collaboration, sparring and sharing of thoughts and enables the best possible solutions.

Your profile
To candidate for this job, you need to be Senior Software Developer with around 10 years of experience. You have experience with hardware abstraction layers either as a provider or consumer.

You are proficient in .NET and #C and have experience with Bluetooth Low Energy and/or have made apps; IOS, Android or MAUI, and are able to grasp, navigate and make a difference in a large eco-system of software and hardware

If you have experience from pharma / medico or other regulated industries and hence the impact is having on our work, it will be nice but is not required.

Other people will say you have a high focus on quality and testing at all levels and that you enjoy the respect of others as a team player, where you seek the optimal solution through a constructive dialogue.

For this job is required that you work on-site in our headquarters in Smørum from day one.
