The position
The position is focused on addressing the issue of health in equity in obesity and helping to design effective strategies to support access to care and affordability of treatment for vulnerable people living with obesity. The role will specifically look at strategies to reach vulnerable populations, including those with the highest unmet medical needs and low socio-economic status. As Associate Director, Obesity Health Equity you will engage with external partners to explore barriers related to equitable access to holistic care and treatment for obesity, for example international health organizations, health professional associations, patient organizations and academia to design meaningful research, develop impactful strategies and execute on roadmaps.
Internally, you work collaboratively with other parts of the organization to ensure that health equity and questions related to access and affordability are considered throughout the value chain, from research and development to market access and operations. For example, this will involve hands-on contributions to cross-functional efforts to identify how Novo Nordisk can reach vulnerable people with obesity, explore how different access pathways can help improve health equity and provide concrete sparring and guidance to launch markets.
Some of the responsibilities that you will find:
- Lead the implementation of the access and affordability components of Novo Nordisk’s social responsibility work in obesity, including collaborating with internal stakeholders to embed and advance equity considerations in cross-functional agendas.
- Ensure operational excellence in the implementation of the access and affordability components of Novo Nordisk’s social responsibility work in obesity across the organization, including support to affiliates.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders, including representing Novo Nordisk on a global scale.
- Establish Novo Nordisk as a corporate leader in addressing access and affordability issues related to obesity.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in business administration, health economics, or public health.
- Solid understanding and experience of market access and affordability strategies in the healthcare industry
- Proven project management leadership skills
- Ability to develop new business models and solutions to address strategic problems, with a focus on strategy execution.
- Global project management and stakeholder management experience.
As a person, you are driven by a passion for health equity, possessing strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with external partners and expert organizations. Your expertise in market access and affordability, coupled with a solid understanding of building equity, enables you to establish new business models and lead strategic initiatives to address access and affordability challenges.
