About the position
As the Project Manager of the Maintenance team the overall responsibility is to act as owner and final approver of deliverables related to the Utilities, Drug Substance Manufacturing (DSM) & Head block.
You will get the overall responsibility and authority to deliver value to our customers, including people and process management, safety and quality compliance, continuous improvement and supporting of planning activities.
As the leader of the Project Maintenance team, it is expected of you to plan maintenance related work in the project phase together with Supervisors from Utility, Drug Substance (DS) and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) maintenance.
You will be part of a leadership team in Technical Operation and Maintenance (TOM), consisting of leaders from other cross functional areas. Furthermore, you will also be part of the site engineering extended leadership team.
Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Projects
- Assume overall project responsibilities for the work package regarding maintenance.
- Ensure on-time project deliverables.
- Prepare & present project status & targets.
- Ensure deliverables meet all quality & compliance standards.
- Stakeholder Management; interact and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and support throughout the “Milkyway” project, securing that construction activities satisfy FDBD's requirements. This also includes installation supervision.
- Coordination with external partners (e.g., Jacobs and Flour), on deliverables & schedules
- Construction management; Participate in SAT and in review of utility systems.
- Communication; initiating dialogues as well as presenting relevant and timely updates on project status for all stakeholders in terms of alignment and priority of deliverables.
- Ensure proposed changes within work package are challenged & justified in order to meet requirements for the DSM facility.
- Ensure all work package activities are coordinated with relevant other functions in the Milkyway project.
- Ensure direction of the Maintenance team is set in the project together with Supervisors in Technical operations & Maintenance.
- Ensure delivery and implementation of solutions which fulfils requirements and expectations.
Operations
- Ensure timely and efficient technical support and maintenance of the equipment including maintenance and calibration tasks during care & custody period before hand-over from project.
- Follow up on Utility equipment issues together with relevant parties in the organization.
- Responsible for timely and sufficient communication to relevant parties in case of a breakdown or other critical issues on Utility or process equipment in the project.
- Come up with improvement ideas together with the team, work with relevant parties to implement optimizations as part of the daily work.
- Act as a natural partner for the team in the daily work at and around the shop floor in Milkyway.

Qualifications
Professional skills
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably within mechanical engineering disciplines, a degree as BTecMan & MarENG or a technical education with good project skills
- You have a high degree of knowledge within maintenance, automation, instrumentation & calibration, utility systems as black -, clean utility and HVAC.
- Experience within engineering, commissioning, and validation phases of projects in a cGMP biotech / pharmaceutical environment, as well as experience with development and technical review of engineering documentation packages and equipment design calculations.
- You possess good communication skills.
- Min. 3 years of experience within people management
- Excellent coaching and people skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Danish.
- As we are a biopharmaceutical company, our processes take place in a GMP regulated environment and therefore we expect you to have GMP knowledge from either the medical industry or similar.

About the Department and the team
The Technical Operations and Maintenance (TOM) department is a group of +120 skilled employees dedicated to operating, maintaining and optimizing a range of essential systems and equipment site wide. Their expertise spans across HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), utilities management, calibration, and comprehensive maintenance activities. All to ensure smooth operations across FDBD.
TOM plays a crucial role in supporting the overall functionality and efficiency of FDBD, applying their technical knowledge to keep all systems running smoothly and efficiently.
More precisely TOM is responsible for continuous operation and maintenance of the utility systems, DSM maintenance and I&C department and additionally we provide technical support to our expansion projects.
The Utility, Maintenance and Calibration teams
The teams consist of approx. 100 highly skilled and experienced employees, divided in smaller teams: a Technical Site support (24/7), Black/HVAC group, Clean group, Process maintenance and Electrical maintenance, composed of roles such as 24/7 support, mechanics, Subject Matter Experts (SME), HVAC specialists, Operational engineers and electricians.
