ABOUT THE ALLIANCE for Global SUNDHED
You will be working full-time as part of the Secretariat for the new Alliance for Global Health (Alliancen for Global Sundhed), established in 2024 as a new independent initiative bringing stakeholders together with a common mission: bolstering Danish support for global health.
Why a Danish Alliance for Global Health?
Health and well-being for everyone is the key to a sustainable future. Investments in global health support the most vulnerable and at-risk populations, reduce inequality and support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Collaboration is essential, especially in low-income countries, where overlapping and protracted crises have deepened existing health inequalities. Robust health systems require significant investment and rely on international support and innovative financing strategies. Denmark's leading position in global health is threatened by recent years' changes in official development assistance (ODA), which endanger our traditional positions of strength in global health, multilateralism and support for the least developed countries.
We are a politically independent alliance with a vision to enable long and healthy lives for everyone, everywhere.
We are dedicated to increasing and improving development support for the world's poorest and most vulnerable populations.
We bring together civil society, the private sector, foundations and research institutions with a common mission: bolstering support for global health and maintaining Denmark’s frontrunner position.
Our goal is to create a movement that informs development priorities in Denmark and beyond. We need a strong voice in the fight for sexual and reproductive health and rights, universal health coverage, vaccines, joint efforts against major epidemics such as tuberculosis, HIV and malaria and other major challenges of our time.
Our approach – we influence through direct advocacy; public debate and awareness; capacity building; and data and analyses.
