As our new Area Sales Manager, you will assist and participate in driving sales activities through multiple sales channels in the Nordic region. We are growing and expect further growth in the coming years, which is why we are seeking an Area Sales Manager with a technical background and maritime sales experience. In return, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to join our growth journey and drive the sales of energy optimization systems to both existing and new customers in the Marine segment in the Nordic region, including Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Finland.

The Job
As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to increased sales in the maritime sector in the Nordic region. This includes sales to shipowners, shipyards, and other maritime-related companies in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. It is important that you can build trusting relationships with customers as well as distributors and understand how to focus on the customer’s needs. You enjoy being on the move, as you will primarily engage in outward-facing sales work. Your main responsibility will be to drive the sales of DESMI’s energy optimization system, OptiSaveTM, as well as pumps and related equipment, with a primary focus on shipowners and shipyards within the aforementioned geographic areas.
To ensure good customer relationships, as our new Area Sales Manager, you will spend a lot of time traveling, with 60+ travel days. Your location can be based from a home office close to customers or from our Danish office in Nørresundby, and you will be part of an experienced, independent team, reporting to the Country Manager, DESMI Danmark A/S.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to increased sales in the Nordic region in line with sales targets, with a primary focus on selling our energy optimization system OptiSave and pumps and pump solutions.
- Systematically following up and coordinating sales in areas with distributors.
- Preparing offers in DESMI’s offer system (technical and commercial) and developing optimal technical solutions for customers.
- Conducting customer visits/meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Identifying and developing new customers and new opportunities.
- Acting as a liaison between customers and other departments/functions at DESMI, including internal follow-up on customer orders.
- Participating in exhibitions and seminars.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a technical background, ideally as a trained Marine Engineer or Engineer, combined with sales experience and a solid understanding of the maritime market. You are familiar with ship operations and, most importantly, have a passion for technical sales and delivering solutions. Proficiency in both Danish and English, both spoken and written, is essential.
