What’s the role about?
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect who will work in tandem with various Architects from DD&IT to shape the Research and Early Development IT landscape at Novo Nordisk. As an integral part of the Lab Operations cluster, you will play a pivotal role in defining and enabling IT architecture that drives standardization and efficiency across Novo Nordisk R&ED globally.
Your key responsibilities are to:
- Take technical leadership in defining and shaping the architectural runway to encapsulate our technical ambition
- Drive and maintain the architectural runway, ensuring a harmonized and standardized system landscape in collaboration with Program Management
- Lead and steer discussions on the future of product operations within Novo Nordisk R&ED, both internally and with external vendors
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to teams in Lab Operations. Work closely with IT architects from other ARTs and domains to shape the Target Architecture and Architectural Principles
- Drive the adoption of DevOps within lab operations and enhance the digital foundation of the IT landscape
- Provide hands-on technical design and implementation guidance to the teams to ensure successful execution of architectural strategies
You would play System Architect role for the ART where you would partner with other two Leads of ART i.e.: RTE (Release Train Engineer) and Product manager to act as their advisory and technical support and co-own the ART ceremonies and tasks
Candidate profile
We expect you have a BSc or MSc in Computer Science or other relevant field with a Strong technical leadership capabilities to drive and shape the Architectural Runway, ability to influence stakeholders on all levels (Senior Leadership and Scrum teams).
In addition you have:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as .NET 8.0+, C#, and/or Python
- Strong understanding of application design using domain-driven and event-driven design
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation
- Hands-on working experience with AWS or Azure cloud providers. (AWS preferred)
- Nice to have Lifesciences domain knowledge

DDIT-Research and Early Development (R&ED) is a unit in Digital, Data, and IT that provides IT solutions when new treatments are discovered, and molecules are being developed. We are the IT partner of Research and Early Development. Our responsibility is to leverage new technology and digitalization and offer a sustainable IT infrastructure, data and integration solutions needed to bring forward all the work done through important research. To highlight what we do, we build IT solutions to help capture data, provide a cloud foundation to manage the data and do advanced analytics with high-performance computing.
With us in DDIT-R&ED, you will step into a sweet spot between IT and research and be part of the first step in the process, from research to the patient. Our area counts +125 engaged employees that span Denmark, India, the US, the UK, and China. We are on a growth journey with Novo Nordisk and expect our unit to grow accordingly.
You will become part of our Architecture & Systems Engineering department with 20+ people, in DDIT-R&ED located in Måløv but this role demands you to be available at all R&ED sites globally.
