The position is a full-time tenure track position.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You will become part of a research group focusing on fundamental fluid dynamics and aerodynamics centered around wind energy applications such as wind turbine and wind farm flows. You will be working in a project-oriented organization, participating in existing projects and in the formulation and application of new projects. The position demands strong teamworking abilities, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment. In collaboration with the team your primary tasks will be:

  • Development and consolidation of our in-house computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver EllipSys,
  • Development and consolidation of our in-house EllipSys adjoint solver,
  • Development and application of our high-fidelity shape optimization framework for wind turbine aerofoils and blades,
  • Research-based commercial consultancy,
  • Teaching and supervision of BSc and MSc projects, co-supervision of PhD students.

We are looking for a candidate with solid qualifications in the following fields:

  • CFD-based wind turbine aerodynamics,
  • Programming in languages like Fortran, C/C++ and Python,
  • Computational fluid dynamics code development,
  • Development and application of adjoint solvers for incompressible CFD,
  • High performance computing,
  • Aerodynamic shape optimization.

You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
