In October 2024, the Vestas Global HSE Work Practices team was established to bring together experts with extensive subject matter expertise in key risk areas, with the goal of improving HSE performance across all Vestas operations.

This team, fueled by a dedication to continuous improvement and supported by years of experience and profound knowledge, will help Vestas build the capacity to effectively manage and mitigate HSE risks.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Global Point of Contact and contribute to setting and achieving targets and KPIs for offshore and marine safety
  • Collaborate with Vestas offshore stakeholders to identify best practice and ensure global/ cross-regional alignment. Develop strategies in order to keep Vestas at the forefront of industry advancements in all areas of offshore safety
  • Champion innovation in Offshore HSE practices by exploring and collaborating new technologies, methodologies, and processes
  • Ensure appropriate systems and governance across regions are established and aligned to clearly defined global minimum requirements
  • Chair the Offshore HSE Safety Committee and attend Industry meetings and provide insight into any areas of focus
  • Represent Vestas in industry forums, workgroups, organisation and influence any developments in order to protect Vestas interests
  • Performing Ad-hoc tasks as defined by the Global HSE Work Practices Manager in support of the business

Qualifications

  • You have an HSE profile and are enthusiastic about HSE and interested in joining the offshore renewables industry
  • Hold relevant education within HSE (such as NEBOSH General Certificate or international equivalent)
  • GWO Basic Safety Training and BOSIET is welcomed
  • Have at least 5 years of experience from a similar HSE role, especially within wind power/energy in maritime/offshore environment
  • Have experience with HSE policies and processes
  • Have good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to quickly understand new systems
  • Speaking up and have a lead on continuous improvement on HSE topics

Competencies

  • The ability to liaise with a variety of offshore and HSE stakeholders to harness their experience and develop aligned global minimum standards
  • An in-depth knowledge of offshore (marine) HSE standards and regulations
  • The ability to conceive, develop and implement global policies and procedures with a focus on simplicity
  • Significant offshore experience with the credibility to obtain buy-in from across the business and wider industry
  • Team oriented professional who recognises good results come from a collaborative approach
  • Offshore lifting operations experience is an advantage.
  • Incident investigation trained with the ability to articulate clear actions plans based on defined root causes
