In alignment with the People for 2030 and the People Development Strategy, the Talent Development Unit (TDU) at Office of Human Resources (OHR) part of the Bureau for Management Services (BMS), is committed to further strengthening an impactful people development experience by creating ample opportunities and incentives for personnel to learn and upskill so that they can do their best work in their current roles and grow in their careers and strengthening the culture of learning and growth in UNDP
In this regard, BMS/OHR/TDU is seeking in-person People Development interns to support the implementation of the People for 2030 Strategy, and the People Development Strategy (2024-25).
This is a generic job vacancy: We are looking for People Development interns with experience and knowledge in at least one of following areas of: Onboarding and People Management Development, Leadership Development, Capability Development, Career Development, Data and Knowledge Management, Evaluation, and/or Communication.
Stipend: UNDP interns are provided a monthly stipend to cover costs associated to the internship. The stipend amount varies from duty station to duty station. The amount can also vary depending on if a selected candidate receives financial support from a nominating institution, related institution, or government. For Copenhagen, this stipend is an equivalent of $1000 per month (exact amount to be confirmed).
Starting Date of the Internship - Selected candidate(s) will be expected to start their internship in February/March 2025 or 1 July 2025, depending on the selected candidates’ choice and UNDP’s needs.
As a full member of the TDU team, the intern will:
- Participate in in-house training opportunities as applicable.
- Learn the structure, mechanisms, policies and practice areas of UNDP.
- Participate in dedicated trainings and UNDP online learning tools.
- Strengthen effective communication skills.
- Participate in working groups.
- Network with approximately 2000 personnel from 11 UN organizations and programmes at UN City.

Duties and Responsibilities
We are recruiting for the following positions. Applicants are invited to select up to two positions of interest and will be shortlisted and selected to each position based on demonstrated skills and experience:
- Onboarding & People Management intern
- Leadership Development Intern
- Capability Development intern
- Career Development Intern
- Communication Intern
Communications
- Create and update communication materials such as graphics/videos/presentations for talent development programmes and social media outreach.
- Maintain internal website information on talent development programmes and events.
- Support the creation of Podcasts on UNDP’s talents (recording interviews and editing content).
- Assist in creation and delivery of webinars using technology e.g. Zoom/ MS TEAMS.
Programme Management, Design, and Delivery
- Assist in tasks related to programme management including enrollment, reporting, tracking, and responding to learning queries.
- Assist the team in the design and execution of capacity gap or learning needs analysis organization process flow and data analysis.
- Incorporate adult learning theory, visual design principles and accessibility guidelines to design and develop interactive eLearning modules/online training materials.
- Assess and curate talent development content on various platforms (e.g. Coursera, LinkedIn Learning.).
- Conduct research on topics related to talent and organizational development e.g. identify suitable digital learning technologies, platforms, and tools (artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality).
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Support in the monitoring and evaluation of learning interventions using tools such as: MS Forms for surveys, and Excel for creating evaluation documents.
- Assist in developing high quality and interactive dashboards in Power BI.
Knowledge Management
- Update and maintain the Talent Development Hub using SharePoint, Stream, SharePoint List.
- Provide automatic solutions by using Power Automate and Power APPs.

Desired Skills
- Strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of office software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office suite: PPT, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Streams, Forms, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power APPs).
- Language skills: Fluency in English required. Good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish an asset.
- Knowledge of software design (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Illustrator InDesign) is an asset.

Interns are selected on a competitive basis. Applicants to UNDP’s internships must meet one of the following academic requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

Some intrenship conditions:
- Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed
- Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any posts in UNDP during the period of the internship.
- Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan.
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
- Interns are expected to work full-time but flexibility is allowed for education programmes.
