Product Compliance Officer – Mission “license to operate”

If yes, our new position as Product Compliance Officer will be perfect for you to contribute to maintaining RTX’s “License to Operate” in close co-operation with experienced colleagues.
The Mission – should you choose to accept it
As our new Product Compliance Officer, you will have an important role in understanding the regulatory environment for RTX products, scouting for change to be able to provide sparring, advice and support to ensure compliance for RTX products worldwide.
You will refer to our Head of Quality Management, and work closely together with our very experienced Product Compliance Specialist, who will introduce you to the product compliance work at RTX. A generational shift is in the works, so you can look forward to a longer transitional period with your senior colleague, who will ensure a smooth transfer of knowledge.
Your primary targets will include:
- Perform proactive surveillance of RTX relevant product compliance standards, regulations and "world practices" to maintain product compliance throughout their entire lifecycle
- Provide product compliance specialist advice/assistance to organization on request on e.g. type approval, chemical compliance, conflict minerals, product labelling, cyber security
- Assist projects with compliance evaluation for feasibility and resource optimization
- Assist projects with review of documentation, product assessments, type approval and Declarations of Conformity

We expect you to take pride in working with compliance and maintaining integrity on behalf of RTX. Furthermore, you are methodical in the approach to problem solving and focus on the quality of delivered results.
For your mission to be a success within your first year with us, you should be able to cross these items of your mission statement:
- RTX’ License to operate status is maintained
- You have anchored compliance within the organization and ensured that your colleagues understand the common purpose of compliance
- Your compliance actions have turned into value for the company
So, who are you?
Several backgrounds could be relevant for this position but here are a few of the things we are hoping to see in our new colleague.
- Solid capabilities in reading and understanding relevant regulations, directives and standards – in short, you are not scared of legal language
- A holistic understanding of product development and product lifecycle
- Fluency in written and spoken English with strong analytical and communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and together with colleagues and teams
It will be a plus if you also have:
- A degree or understanding of Electronics Engineering or equivalent combined with understanding of mechanics and materials
- Relevant product compliance specialist knowledge about; 1) Environmental, safety and electrical product compliance, 2) Regulatory regimes applicable to consumer electronics and wireless technologies
- Technical and commercial understanding within the business RTX acts in
- Knowledge about regulatory affairs and quality assurance for healthcare products
