Payroll and Accounting Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll lead and unlock the Payroll & Accounting team's full potential to deliver world-class people services to all employees in our global organisation. You'll be responsible for leading a high-energy team of nine Payroll & Accounting specialists supporting Central Europe and UK region and ensuring that your team is empowered to deliver and succeed.

You’ll be part of GPS, CE & UK where you, together with your colleagues, will run a best-in-class payroll and accounting department, currently serving 17 countries across the CE & UK region. You’ll be working closely with HR Operations & Learning Manager sharing countries, responsibilities and stakeholders, working together to support the wider team delivering our common goal.
As a team, we collaborate across our own organisation, as well as the broader organisation, to gather learning from all relevant stakeholders to provide the best possible support to our colleagues and customers.
You’ll play an important role in:
- ensuring the execution of payroll and accounting in the countries across CE & UK region currently comprising 17 countries
- being the point of contact for the team and maintaining a full understanding of processes to be able to resolve matters swiftly and accurately
- maintaining effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders, incl. banks, authorities, etc.
- developing and implementing procedures, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy of operations within the team's remit and supporting the team in their initiatives
- coordinating with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all employment tax laws and regulations. As well as leading on year-end reporting, audits, statutory audits, and related project work
- taking care of the Payroll & Accounting team’s well-being and cocreate the supportive work environment with a space to grow.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have extensive experience in payroll management, post payroll, accounting, and reconciliation
- have solid understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements in multiple EU countries
- have knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management
- can build a team culture based on trust and respect and are responsive to team needs and requests.
