This position is based either at our headquarter office in Roskilde (Denmark) or friendly Warsaw (Poland) office where you will join our Information Security team, which is part of Risk & Security area. The services delivered by the Information Security team are crucial for BEC to secure our data and maintain customer trust. This is achieved by overseeing and monitoring how BEC manages and meets its Information Security Requirements. Risk & Security is placed as a 2nd line function in BEC. As a second line function we are backed by a strong team of IT professionals in 1st line that implement and maintain the security requirements we help define.
As a 2nd line security function, we oversee security implementations across the business. We help 1st line security by:
- Implementing security controls effectively by providing guidance and direction on what and how to implement security.
- Validating the effectiveness of security controls in the 1st line of defense in relation to BEC’s established Information Security Requirements
- Creating a consolidated risk picture for BEC and reporting to relevant stakeholders
At BEC, we work in a hybrid remote model, coming into the office at least 3 days a week and the option of working remotely for 2 days. Your direct manager will be the head of Information Security, Dennis Jensen.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
As an Cyber Security Consultant, you will work closely with colleagues across BEC, primarily 1st line of defense and stakeholders from the other teams in Risk & Security.
Together with colleagues from the Information security team you will ensure that a sufficient and effective level of information security is upheld across projects and systems in BEC.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to understand and communicate Information Security Requirements, the Threat Landscape and effective security controls to skilled professionals across BEC. You will become part of a department passionate about security and the role of protecting the critical data we safeguard.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Engage in dialogs with highly technical professionals from BEC and partner organizations and clearly communicate security requirements.
- Help IT professionals implement effective and strong security measures in a wide range of different systems.
- Evaluating the implemented security controls by collecting and analyzing evidence of effectiveness, including facilitating Penetration Tests and Security Reviews.
- Advice project, product- and business process owners in BEC regarding information security aspects.
- Help build a secure, resilient, and robust organization where security is not being ignored.
To succeed you will have:
Preferably, you hold either a bachelor’s, a master’s degree, or similar education or a bunch of certifications that proves your deep knowledge in the security area.

Since we are looking for an experienced profile, it is expected that you:
- Have experience with coordinating execution of red-team tests
- Have experience with various security tooling like Firewalls, Endpoint Detection Response, Proxy, Antivirus, Microsoft E5 Security, Active Directory, PKI etc. Knowledge in all areas is not required, but knowing what it is, is an advantage.
- Deep knowledge in one or more areas are an advantage.
- Are familiar with different security frameworks like CIS, NIST and ISO.
- Are familiar with security incident handling
- Have excellent communication skills and a ‘can do attitude’.
- Have a structured approach to your work team player contributing to a positive team environment.
- Are self-driven and motivated by challenges.
- Can handle many “balls in the air” at the same time.
With colleagues in teams distributed across Denmark and Poland, you must be fluent in English both in writing and orally.
It’s nice-to-have:
- A CISSP or similar certification, or any Offensive or Defensive technical certifications are highly valued.
- Experience with complex infrastructure setups where many independent solutions interact.
- Experience from working with the financial sector and/or a software development organization.
