As a CMO Manager, you will take charge of overseeing relationships with selected Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) worldwide, ensuring they adhere to contracts and consistently meet performance benchmarks. This role encompasses managing the entirety of CMO partnerships, from their implementation to completion, and addressing any challenges in operations or partnerships as they arise. As well as being the first point of contact for solving production related obstacles and being the primary assessor of production related deviations.
Collaboration is essential to succeed; thus, you will work closely with internal stakeholders across various departments. As the primary point of contact for resolving production-related obstacles and the primary assessor of production-related deviations, your role is pivotal in maintaining seamless operations and upholding the high standards expected at Bavarian Nordic.
The External Manufacturing team at Bavarian Nordic is relatively new, reflecting the company's strategic decision to actively engage with CMOs as partners. Given the nascent nature of many processes, which previously focused on internal rather than external production, there is a journey of development and adaptation ahead. As a CMO Manager, you will not only help to evolve the External Manufacturing organization but also contribute to the broader growth of Bavarian Nordic. This includes supporting and educating the organization on how to effectively collaborate with external manufacturing partners, specifying requirements, and further developing systems and reporting processes.
Some of your key tasks will include:
- Overseeing the overall relationship with CMOs, including contract compliance and performance monitoring.
- Managing performance metrics through recurring review meetings.
- Acting as an escalation point for function-to-function interactions with CMOs.
- Identifying and managing risks linked to the CMO landscape.
- Maintaining detailed understanding of the outsourced production processes and the CMO's ways of working.
- Performing review and approval of CMO documents including, Change Controls, Deviations and batch documentation; and ensure relevant stakeholders are involved.
- Participating and drive process improvement activities across Bavarian Nordic and CMOs.
- Collaboration is key to our success, and you will work closely with stakeholders including local manufacturing sites, Sourcing, Planning, Logistics, Quality, MSAT, RA and Artwork team.

PRACTICAL CONDITIONS REGARDING THE JOB
- Workplace: Preferred workplace is either Bavarian Nordic’s office in Kvistgaard, DK, or Münich, DE, however there are also opportunities to work remotely or relocating depending on the circumstances.
- Travel activity: Some international travel is required, approximately 15-25 days per year.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
