The job
As a Dean of Academic Affairs, you are tasked with the introduction and daily management of Undergraduate Programmes creating an exciting teaching and learning environment for both students and faculty. This means setting academic priorities and strategic goals that reflect the College’s strategic plan, in cooperation with the Pro Vice-Chancellor.
The Dean will work in collaboration with the academic staff and administrators to develop and implement a sound, effective, innovative, and engaging educational programme characterised by excellence and to establish an environment that facilitates meaningful interactions between students and teaching staff.
Job profile
The Dean of Academic Affairs will head the department’s new 3-year BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management programme offered in collaboration with the renowned British university, De Montfort University in Leicester. Alongside establishing the new ITHM programme, this role also involves sharing responsibilities with our Deans of other programmes, as required.
The Dean will play a pivotal role in facilitating the collaboration between students, staff and external partners. The Dean oversees student progression, academic content, staff enhancement, quality assurance and reporting to partners and stakeholders.
The Dean is a member of the College’s management team and reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor.
The Dean will also function as immediate manager for faculty in other Undergraduate Programmes.

We currently offer BA (Hons) in Business Administration, BSc (Hons) Business Studies, BA (Hons) Business Management and the BSc (Hons) Computer Science.
The campus is located at Sankt Petri Passage in the heart of Copenhagen.
About you
You are an experienced academic with extensive experience with tourism and/or hospitality from an academic angle. You enjoy the challenge of starting up a new programme and the entrepreneurial work inherent in that. You genuinely enjoy interacting with international students in a multinational and diversified faculty. In addition to excellent communicative skills, you have a keen eye for detail and deadlines as well as a natural focus on continuous improvement. As Dean you are empathic, goal-oriented and focused on facilitating the dynamics of the department.
Qualifying applicants
Applicants must show a keen interest in being part of the management of a department in constant change. The right applicant should be well structured and be able to work closely with a diversified group of stakeholders with – at times – conflicting interests.
The applicant must have a master’s degree within Hospitality/Tourism – a PhD is preferable. Furthermore, the applicant must have solid English proficiency, be well acquainted with the academic needs of international students, and solid teaching experience.
Terms of Employment
The start date is February 1st 2025 or as soon as possible.
The position of Dean of Academic Affairs for Undergraduate Programmes is a fulltime position.
Employment as per agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC trade union.
