Product Director for DataNow

Do you want to drive change in how we work with clinical data? Are you looking for a position in which you will set direction and drive prioritisation? If so, then you could be our new Product Director in Data Science responsible for the Data Now product.

The position
At Novo Nordisk we are in the mist of a global digital transformation and we are expanding the scope and therefore looking for a highly skilled Product Director to join our team of Product Directors.

As Product Director you will be responsible for the digital product, this includes driving, facilitating, and developing the digital roadmap and prioritise the backlog to ensure that the digital products fits and unlock our business aspirations.

This includes building a strong foundation for developing integrated solutions by driving standardised, harmonised, and reliable digital end-to-end solutions that optimise processes across our value chain ultimately enabling new medicines to patients.

As our Product Director for DataNow you will join a team of Product Directors in Data Science that work on a wide digital portfolio with the vision to enable a scalable seamless data flow and state of the art data governance.

Your responsibilities:

  • Identify and shape the strategic focus for DataNow in close collaboration with Business Owners
  • Create, refine and prioritise the backlog in close collaboration with the Product Owners
  • Support discovery processes to enable new ways of running clinical trials and developing integrated digital solutions.
  • Aligning with stakeholders across business areas and IT, to ensure end-to-end thinking that optimises the Novo Nordisk value chain enabling high quality inputs and new insights.
  • Build a culture within the team, characterised by curiosity, passion, openness, and psychological safety.
  • Ensure that we keep a focus on benefit realisation to ensure business cases are made, kept updated and progress being reported

About the DataNow programme
DataNow is part of our strategy digital investment programme NextGen Data infrastructure and will replace existing legacy infrastructure.

DataNow is more than replacing IT Systems. The success criteria for DataNow is to improve the way we work with trial build, data collection and consolidation for all clinical data (internal and external). DataNow will therefore focuses on enhancing the capture, consolidation and management of clinical data elevating data quality, lowering the burden on our end users, and enabling innovative trial designs

DataNow is organised in an ART setup with 6 teams and app. 85 people. As Product Director you will be part of the ART LT together with the system architect and RTE.

Qualifications
You hold a university degree within science, engineering and/or business, and have significant experience in digital process design and/or digital product management.

In addition, to be a successful Product Director, you also have the following competencies:

  • Experience with clinical data and how we run clinical trials in Novo Nordisk
  • A strong understanding of digital product development and the linkage between discovery, testing, development and implementation
  • Proven creative informal leadership experience of driving changes in a cross-functional, multi-cultural and cross-geographical environment. You inspire passion, and encourage a feeling of ownership in people you work with
  • Ability to think ahead and set strategic direction and can turn strategic priorities into tangible direction for the product teams
  • Be the bridge between business and technical implementation – to ensure value drops along the journey
  • Can set clear direction, prioritise, and communicate a compelling purpose and vision with passion and urgency on all levels of the organisation.

About the department
In Novo Nordisk, our purpose is to drive change to defeat diabetes and other serious chronic diseases by providing the best sustainable solutions and products. To identify the right solutions for tomorrow, we need to digitalize the way we do development.

Data Science is an area within Development, responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide, from early development phases to product introduction and life cycle management. In Data Science our focus is to deliver data and data insights through advanced analytics to support new drug submission. We provide insights to fact-based decisions on new drugs and indications for Novo Nordisk product portfolio, which make a difference for the patients.

In Data Science digital & process transformation, we are responsible for the digital transformation and play a key role in coordinate strategy and operations across the Data Science organisation. We support the Data Science Leadership Team in setting the scene, the goals and follow-up on deliverables. Furthermore, we also drive the digital development through the digital programmes We collaborate and liaise intensively with other areas both within Development and across Novo Nordisk.
