Due to our recent growth in development, construction and operation of renewable power plants, we are currently looking for a PV Electrical Engineer. This job offers you the possibility of being part of a growing technical and commercial team, who backs other group’s affiliates, while working on a fast growth “startup environment” backed by a large international group
Main responsibilities:
Reporting to our Technical Manager, and based in Porto, the candidate will provide support to the group HQ and all affiliates who intend to develop photovoltaic (PV) projects in their markets. The role will include:
- Designing PV plants in its major aspects (mechanical and electrical) both in preliminary, permitting and execution stages;
- Preparing preliminary and detailed PV engineering drawings, components sizing and project descriptions;
- Providing technical support to all geographies of EWE on the development, and on engineering, procurement and construction of PV plants, as well as in contract negotiations;
- Providing estimates as inputs to the budgeting activity for all the projects;
- Being permanently updated on new technologies and components, technical regulation and trends in the renewable energy industry;
- Developing other engineering-related tasks connected to renewable energy plants or projects grid connection in general
The profile requirements:
- Three to five years of experience working in a similar role in the renewable energy sector;
- Experience in PV plants design and calculations, namely for execution design;
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills;
- Proficiency in MSOffice, CAD, GIS tools and PV design specific software tools;
- Fluent in English (command of other languages will be considered a plus);
- University degree in Electric Engineering;
- Ability to be based in Porto but to travel occasionally to project sites both nationally and internationally.
- Ability to work in several projects in different geographies at the same time.
Furthermore, you could have experience/skills in:
- Managing the construction of utility scale wind or PV plants until commissioning phase;
- Working as an engineer in MV and HV power grids;
- Knowledge of storage (BESS) and P2X technologies;
