We’re adding a new role to our team in Northern Europe; a Head of Marketing Technology, who will help us drive forward future-ready product roadmaps and delivery plans. We are looking for a technology leader who can partner with our business colleagues from across five different markets to understand our short- and long-term objectives in close collaboration with our marketing teams; someone who will lead and develop a team of Technology experts with focus on marketing technology across the region to plan and deliver tactical and transformational change to make our business successful.

What you’ll do?
You’ll drive the technology side of delivery and projects, investments, and changes in back-end technology for marketing solutions. You’ll lead a small and dedicated team, own and ensure development of Northern Europe technology solutions in support of our marketing ambition and roadmap, and you’ll oversee and own relationship with technology vendors in back-end marketing tech landscape for marketing solutions.
You’ll report directly to the Technology Director for Northern Europe and work closely with the regional leadership team, our Northern European marketing team, other Technology functions & suppliers, as well as senior business stakeholders. You’ll oversee a team of 2-5 people, a mix of permanent staff and contractors.
This role will undertake a great variation of tasks, for instance:
- Being accountable for creating and delivering Product Delivery plans within the marketing technology space aligned to strategic objectives and tactical needs across our Northern European regional business
- Work with global and regional architecture teams to develop and agree the technical strategy and roadmap for marketing technology
- Maintaining and adjusting product & delivery plans over time, in agreement with relevant stakeholders to accommodate evolving business priorities
- Engaging of relevant 3rd party suppliers, commercially and operationally
- Ensuring the marketing technology product management team is developed, motivated, and rightly-sized and -skilled.

As our new Head of Marketing Technology, you’ll work at our Northern European Support Office in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn. - Be onboarded and actively engaged in shaping the future marketing technology strategy of our Northern European business
- Gain understanding of the exciting field of marketing technology in world’s second largest retail and optical business

Who you are?
We are looking to recruit a motivational and influential IT Leader, who’ll be comfortable working both hands-on as well as with a more strategic/tactical perspective. Our Technology and our teams are on a transformational journey, so you’ll need to embrace and adapt to changes with confidence. The role will require clear communication at all levels of the organisation and the ability to effectively resolve complex and difficult issues, effectively enabling the dialogue between Business and Technology. Furthermore, we really hope that you can demonstrate:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working within a Technology function; broad understanding of technology systems, networks, data security and software
- Expert in IT delivery with a thorough understanding of the principles, processes, methodologies and techniques involved, primarily Agile Product Management practices
- Strong stakeholder management experience across a regional or global organisation
- Business acumen; understanding of business plans and creating technology product plans to match
- Solid understanding of retail and customer data, and large-scale data solutions on Microsoft technology incl. working experience with CRM solutions
- Excellent people management skills; able to direct, influence and support to get the very best from the team; able to lead through transformational change
- Budget and financial management experience
- In depth experience of negotiating with and managing third party technology suppliers
- Knowledge of the ITIL suite of Service Management processes
- Proven experience in devising the setup and management of data pipelines, integrations, and workflows between various MarTech platforms (e.g., CDPs, CRMs, analytics tools) to deliver data driven marketing communication
- Hands-on working experience with Adobe Campaign, Marketing Automation and Marketing hub solutions like Bloomreach, Braze, Klaviyo or similar is considered a plus.
