Global Vertical Head of Technology

We are now looking for a Head of Technology Vertical, reporting to Global Head of Sales in Commercial Organization. You will play a vital role in internal and external thought leadership for the Technology Vertical to create and embed the vertical strategies – including growth ambition and underlying solution requirements. You will be accountable for structured gathering of customer insights within the technology verticals, and to develop vertical value propositions based on customer needs, as well as defining vertical solutions (incl. pricing) and ensuring solutions live up to the defined value proposition and envisioned (growth) contribution.

Key responsibilities
Strategy & Direction Setting (Thought Leadership)

  • Define, set and embed global vertical strategies (where to win / how to win)
  • Demonstrate and propagate Maersk industry expertise internally (e.g. communities, case studies
  • Demonstrate and propagate Maersk industry expertise externally (e.g. conferences, white papers)
  • Position Maersk as the leading company within selected Vertical

Customer Insights and Solutions (Value Propositions)

  • Systematic gathering of vertical intelligence/insights (e.g.: studies, subscription based, trade shows)
  • Systematic capture of identified vertical specific needs/insights from frontline and client engagements, building on segment insights
  • Ideation and formulation of unmet future needs (including priority for vertical)
  • Develop Vertical Value Propositions and define packages / integrated solution offerings (incl. pricing guideline) in collaboration with designated functional teams (e.g. Customer Insights, Sales Channels) and relevant Products
  • Oversee that created Vertical value propositions deliver on the anticipated/envisioned contribution

Business Development and Growth (Pursuit Sponsorship)

  • Support Sales Team(s) through sponsorship of Key Pursuits – across value propositions, proposals and Customer meetings
  • Act as Customer advisor where relevant: expand client SoW through leverage of senior level engagement
  • Act as Growth Champion – always driving for expansion and challenging the organizational status quo or inertia
  • Building effective vertical communities within Maersk

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Expertise and depth in understanding market trends, business model and needs of techno vertical customers and their supply chain operations
  • Highly adept at orchestrating logistics solutions for specific industry vertical customers
  • Ability in strategizing and delivering vertical value proposition
  • Extensive experience in digitally advanced operating environment and ability to navigate in global organization setting.
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative and customer-centric mindset
  • Excellent communication skill with high proficiency in written and spoken English
