About the job
As a Type Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring DEIF's products comply with international regulations and certification requirements. You’ll join a team of skilled professionals in our R&D Product Approval department, responsible for software, hardware, and performance approval of DEIF’s products.

You will collaborate closely with developers to define test programs and -requirements and provide expert guidance throughout product development cycles. Working within our state-of-the-art type test laboratory, you will conduct tests for CE marking, UL listing, and land/marine classification approvals. You’ll also contribute to the development and maintenance of test setups, methods, and equipment, helping DEIF stay at the forefront of product approval processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform EMC, environmental, and safety tests, including immunity, emission, climatic, mechanical, high voltage, and IP tests.
• Develop and refine test programs and requirements, ensuring compliance with worldwide regulations.
• Act as a sparring partner for developers and participate in witness testing for marine approvals.
• Support daily operations of the department, including maintaining test equipment and conducting cyclic type tests.
• Improve test setups and methods with automation in mind and develop requirements specifications.

What you’ll bring
We are seeking a structured and detail-oriented professional with a passion for testing and compliance. You thrive in a collaborative environment, excel at managing multiple tasks effectively, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Your qualifications include:

• An educational background in electronics mechanics, electrical engineering, or as an electrician, laboratory technician/assistant.
• Proven experience in testing electrical products, particularly in EMC, safety, climatic, and mechanical areas.
• A solid analytical mindset and a comprehensive understanding of technical standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in documentation and reporting processes.
• Written and verbal communication skills in English.

Interviews for this role are expected to take place in December or January.
