Senior Manager - Donor Engagement (two positions)

ActionAid Denmark is looking to fill two fundraising positions to secure funds for our strong programme portfolio on democratic governance, climate justice and humanitarian response. We work to empower young people and women in collaboration with our more than hundred partners in ActionAid and beyond.
The two fundraising positions will lead institutional fundraising and serve across the international department, where four global teams work on international programmes and partnerships, social movements, youth leadership and mobilization as well as policy, evidence and fundraising. The fundraising positions are part of the Policy, Evidence and Fundraising Team, that manages global policy programmes, communicate impact and learning and support institutional fundraising.
Your tasks
The fundraising positions focus on increasing AADK’s donor engagement and outreach and expanding AADK’s international donor portfolio. The two positions collaborate with partners’ fundraising colleagues at national level as well as with colleagues in our federation, ActionAid International. The tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Donor Engagement: Lead the development and execution of donor mapping and engagement strategies, with a focus on expanding relationships with international institutional donors. Track and analyze donor trends and market opportunities in the global funding landscape, informing internal teams about changes in donor priorities and developing responsive engagement plans.
- Global Network Strengthening: Build and maintain a strong global network within donor institutions, fostering long-term partnerships with key stakeholders, including EU donors, UN agencies and foundations.
- Donor-Specific Action Plans: Develop, coordinate and implement targeted action plans for engaging specific institutional donors, leveraging global network insights to improve positioning and develop unique selling points tailored to donor priorities.
- Proposal Writing & Coordination: Lead proposal writing and coordination, ensuring high-quality submissions aligned with the strategic donor priorities in collaboration with AADK programme managers, thematic experts and country teams.
Your profile
- Hands-On Proposal Development: Demonstrated ability to directly engage as lead writer and coordinator in the drafting and submission of high-quality, complex proposals, including budgets, to international donors.
- Proposal Management and Coordination: Proven ability to manage multiple international funding proposals and collaborate effectively with international teams, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
- Proven Experience in International Fundraising: Minimum 5 years of experience working within the area of institutional fundraising and with institutional donors..
- Donor Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global donor trends and the ability to translate this into actionable strategies for proposal development and partnership building.
- Expertise in Donor Engagement: Proven ability to build and sustain strategic relationships with institutional donors such as the European Commission, UN agencies and private foundations.
- Global Networking: Strong ability to leverage a global donor network and foster collaborations across continents, ensuring ActionAid Denmark is positioned as a go-to partner for institutional funding.
- Strong International Donor Relations Skills: Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with international donors, including EU institutions, UN agencies, and other major global funding bodies.
- Multicultural Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in presenting complex funding requirements to international stakeholders, in both English and Danish.
We offer
A permanent contract with 37 working hours/week and approximately 3-4 weeks of travel per year; a comprehensive compensation package according to the standards of ActionAid International with an obligatory pension scheme; flexible working hours, so that a healthy balance between private- family- and work-life is possible. A position preferably in major donor hubs or in a country where there is an ActionAid member, including Denmark. It is required that you hold a valid work permit for the country.
