Our development organization is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Development Manager to engage our EMEA Development team. The right candidate will play an instrumental role in driving our regional large-scale portfolio of Wind and Solar projects worldwide cooperating with our experienced talents.
Preferred working locations: Zaragoza or Madrid. As a global company with a global mindset, we are also open to considering profiles from other European locations, provided the candidate is willing to travel and attend meetings as required by project needs.

about the role
To be successful in this role you balance strategic direction with active business development, operations enhancement, and relationship management to expand our onshore development business. Your accountabilities are likely to vary, but your main tasks may include:
- Lead the development of wind and solar PV assets from early stage to construction handover, by effective planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting. Special focus on workstreams such as design management, land securing, permitting, interconnection and procurement.
- Act as the representative of BPP to the client for a large-scale renewable energy generation project, encompassing both wind and solar PV assets.
- Lead a project team formed by engineers, designers, specialists, and project management roles. Manage outsourced engineering work, technical consultancy and all design and engineering interfaces within the project.
- Schedule and manage tasks and resources from different teams within the company and third-party consultants.
- Manage the project budget, schedule and planning of generating assets from early phase up to RTB.
- Provide technical and commercial input to the procurement strategy for all aspects related to Generating Assets.
- Support engagement and contract negotiation related to advisors, equipment suppliers, EPC and O&M contractors for the project ensuring all technical requirements related to all aspects related to the facility are scoped within the tender materials.
- Build and develop solid long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide profound technical support to Investment Manager and Project Board of directors.
- Coordinate the handover process of Generating assets to the Construction Management team.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the team, manage staff lifecycle matters, working closely with Management and People & Culture personnel.
about you
We expect you to enrich our business with the following competencies and skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project development and construction in the renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge of development methodology and approach for large-scale renewable project development (workstreams including conceptual design, real estate, environmental, permitting, interconnection and finance).
- Solid understanding of development requirements with a construction mindset, to reach RTB and efficiently hand over the project to a dedicated construction team.
- Ability to manage complex projects and interface between commercial and technical aspects.
- Strong business acumen and commercial understanding/awareness.
- Agility in utilizing general software and systems, for example, GIS, CAD, SharePoint, etc.
- Ability to utilize and apply the skill set of other project staff and act as a mentor to development managers involved in the project.
- Manage team allocation to projects and support on tasks when needed.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage staff lifecycle matters.
- Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, if required by projects.
