BHJ is looking for an ambitious and innovative R&D Manager (Global Wet Petfood Innovation) with a sustainable mindset

In order to position BHJ the best way possible in relation to our customers and become their preferred strategic partner, we are looking for an ambitious and innovative R&D Manager in our Global Strategic Business Development & Innovation function. This underlines BHJ’s close cooperation with the customers to co-create sustainable ingredients and solutions under the frame of our new mission.

We work closely together with all BHJ companies to support and strengthen the cooperation with our partners and our quite new Global R&D Department located in Graasten, Denmark is focusing on wet pet food ingredients including alternative proteins.

Your main tasks are to develop a sustainable product portfolio:

• intensify our focus on developing new ingredients for wet pet food (develop wet pet food animal protein-based solutions)
• intensify our focus on developing alternative proteins for wet pet food

You will work closely with the R&D team and report to Danny Lorenzen-Schmidt, who is heading the Global Strategic Business Development & Innovation Team.

Ansvarsområder og opgaver

• Provide product/process expertise and assistance externally (e.g., key accounts, manufacturing, vendors, customers etc.)
• Function as project team leader and the required activities include:
  • providing effective project leadership for the projects assigned
  • fulfilling the requirements of the Product Development Process deliverables for each phase
  • complete all required documentation and project reporting in a timely manner
  • adherence to company policy on protection of patent rights and intellectual property
• Participate and contribute as a member of a cross functional team. Actively drive product and process conceptualization, development and scale-up.
• Communication of results through oral presentations and timely, written technical documentation and reports

Kompetencer og personlig profil
You will become successful, if you are a hands-on profile shaping the future of our organization and;

• hold a B.S. in Science or Engineering, MSc or PHD Food Science, Animal Science, Engineering or Nutrition
• have minimum three years of R&D experience within the food or pet food category
• have excellent product development skills including strong ingredients knowledge and a solid understanding of nutrition and unit processes
• have consumer understanding and can stay up to date of consumer and competitor trends, experience with customer test
• have proven communication and interpersonal skills in English, ability to influence and drive business decisions

Our R&D laboratory and application is located in Graasten (South of Denmark) and travelling will be approx. 10% per year. Occasionally, it will be possible to work from home.
