We are looking for Mechanical Engineers to strengthen our front-end department Concept and Studies in Bergen, Haugesund, and Stavanger. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work to identify, select, and follow up the mechanical solutions in our designs and work in different phases including concept development, studies at different levels and support tenders.
About the position
In this position, you will work within C&S, focusing on early-phase studies and concept development. This is a discipline-specific role that demands technical expertise and a multidisciplinary mindset, combined with an understanding of market mechanisms and the potential commercial impacts of chosen solutions. As a key resource within Mechanical, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of platforms, floaters, topsides, and onshore plants. Your responsibilities will include designing stationary and rotational equipment, as well as interfacing with system, area, and estimation. Knowing Aibel’s business is not essential, but you will be expected to acquire an understanding of our company so that you can align the opportunities with Aibel’s strengths, delivery models and strategic focus.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Responsible for Mechanical description and design in tenders for studies
- Perform early phase studies and develop Mechanical descriptions and designs, including stationary and rotational equipment, for tenders and studies
- Develop Master Equipment List and be responsible for Mechanical aspects in concept development
- Support and assist Business Development (BD) within Mechanical issues as well as marketing
- Responsible for knowledge of relevant national and international rules and regulation (PSA, NORSOK, API and ISO etc.)
Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree, long relevant experience may competence for lack of formal education
- 5 years + experience with process design
- Experience with concept development work
- Knowledge of methods and technologies for instrument design, as well as rules and regulations for mechanical equipment
- Preferably experience within Oil & Gas field development and Offshore Wind
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus
