We are looking for senior structural engineers to strengthen our Concepts and Studies team in Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen. As a senior structural engineer, you will be a key resource within Structural design in Concepts and Studies and responsible for Structural description in tenders for studies, in addition to perform early phase studies.
About the position
In this position you will be working in C&S with early phase studies and concepts. This is a discipline role which requires both technical understanding and a multidisciplinary mindset, supported by understanding of the market mechanisms and the potential commercial impacts of selected solutions. This includes developing structural designs for platforms, floaters, topsides, onshore plants, and offshore wind installations, based on field descriptions, specifications, experience, and necessary assumptions. The role also involves problem-solving, optimization, and finding innovative solutions to design challenges. Knowing Aibel’s business is not essential, but you will be expected to acquire an understanding of our company so that you can align the opportunities with Aibel’s strengths, delivery models and strategic focus.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Serve as the key resource for Structural design within Concepts & Studies, performing early phase studies and Structural analyzes
- Responsible for Structural in Concept development
- Responsible for Structural descriptions and designs in tenders and studies, including stability and mooring analyzes
- Support and assist Business Development (BD) within Structural issues as well as marketing
- Responsible for knowledge of relevant national and international rules and regulation (PSA, NORSOK, API and ISO etc.)
Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree, long relevant experience may competence for lack of formal education
- 5 years + experience with process design
- Experience with concept development work
- Experienced in all types of structures, beams, plates and shells, structural linear and non-linear FE analyses, and design
- Preferably experience within Oil & Gas field development and Offshore Wind
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus

- High level of personal efficiency and ability to manage work situations to produce required deliverables
