Postdoc positions in general plant molecular and cell biology
Københavns Universitet (KU)
The Department of Plant & Environmental Sciences (PLEN), Section of Plant Glyco Biology, Faculty of Science, at University of Copenhagen offer 3 two-year Postdoc positions in general molecular and cell biology. The work aims to deduce various aspects of cell wall synthesis and development in plants. The research will largely revolve around all types of molecular and cell biology, including a wide range of bioimaging. It is therefore expected that the successful candidates have a strong background in either different aspects of plant growth and development or in cell biology and microscopy.
The successful candidates will work in a highly cross-disciplinary research group lead by Prof. Staffan Persson that routinely uses the full range of computational biology, microscopy, molecular & evolutionary biology and biochemistry. It is expected that the candidates actively apply for funding associated with the research outlined above, and that the candidates has documented experiences in leading students in research projects. The successful candidates will be part of an exciting team to understand mechanisms that underpin cell wall biology, plant growth and evolution. The candidate is also be expected to engage in teaching, supervision of students and lab technicians.
The Postdocs’ responsibilities will primarily consist of:
• Research, including publication/academic dissemination
• Research-based teaching
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of students
