Your tasks
You will be responsible for supporting our Executive Board and management team in the creation and further development of our cost accounting systems and calculation procedures as well as for the maintenance and further development of the planning and reporting system involved. You will be part of the Group Controlling team and report directly to the Head of Group Controlling. Your place of work will be in Stade, Germany. We expect you to be willing to travel around 30 days a year. Your area of responsibility:
You will be responsible for the Group's cost accounting and provide the Executive Board and management team with comprehensive information on developments, including variance analyses compared to the previous year, budget and forecasts. In the regular budgeting and forecasting processes, you will support factories and Group companies in the financial modeling of future development, analyses compared to previous years and expectations.
You will be responsible for the costing process. Within this framework, you will support the further development of current tools and processes and present these to the relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will support our factories or other Group departments with ad hoc and regular analyses, e.g. contribution margin calculations per product, customer, etc.
Related to this field of activity, you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our planning and reporting systems and support the development of our ERP and BI systems. You will be involved in other financial topics or projects, such as the annual financial statements, tax audits, internal control measures, etc.
Your profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced Business Controller with strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of cost accounting and an extensive background in production environments. You will best fit into our team if you are highly self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile to achieve top results.
The following will help you:
- A solid theoretical education (university degree, MBA or equivalent) and several years of experience in a similar position in an international production environment
- Sound knowledge of cost accounting procedures, contribution margin accounting, cost center and cost unit accounting.
- Many years of practical experience with planning and reporting systems and MS Office products (ideally you have knowledge of IBM Cognos TM1 and Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365)
- Experience in solving problems in a structured and methodical manner
- Good analytical skills and an eye for the big picture
- Excellent ability to communicate with your environment and to resolve conflicts constructively
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Previous experience of working successfully in teams.
