Maritime Claims and Performance Analyst at ZeroNorthAsMaritime claims and performance analyst in the Professional Services Team, you will contribute to delivering world-class technical expertise as an individual contributor to Vessel Performance projects and tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Investigate, analyze, and manage claims related to time charter party disputes, including issues around vessel speed, fuel consumption, and overall performance.
- Review ships' performance against charter party terms and commercial benchmarks, identifying discrepancies or underperformance to support claims analysis.
- Liaise with internal teams (product, commercial, legal) and external stakeholders (clients, shipowners, and charterers) to manage claims and provide accurate, data-driven performance reports.
- Prepare detailed documentation and evidence to support claim negotiations and dispute resolution, working closely with legal and technical teams.
- Deliver voyage-based and periodic performance analysis to support both commercial decision-making and claims resolution.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking end-of-voyage reports and other performance data, ensuring timely action and follow-up.
- Ensure proper management and maintenance of claims-related databases and customer report requests, tracking all actions to completion.
Your profile:We imagine you to be someone with relevant experience in handling claims related to time charter parties and vessel performance. You should have studied Marine subjects, such as Marine Engineering or Deck Officer, as these are crucial for understanding the technical and legal aspects of charter party claims. Alternatively, you could be someone who has worked closely in a team that handles charter party underperformance claims for merchant vessels.
Most probably, you have been involved in the analysis of vessel performance, particularly in the context of claims related to speed, fuel consumption, and commercial benchmarks. You have in-depth knowledge of report creation and data analysis, and you’re comfortable supporting customers and internal teams on matters related to charter party performance and claims resolution.
We expect you to be tech-savvy and familiar with BI tools, MS Office, and Google Suite, enabling you to efficiently track claims, create reports, and manage databases as part of your day-to-day tasks.
Lastly, you must have strong written and oral communication skills, effective time management, and a self-motivated approach to handling multiple tasks and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
