We are now looking for a senior engineer to strengthen our technical safety department in Oslo. As a technical safety engineer, you will have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, from manned and unmanned platforms to electrification of platforms and offshore wind. These projects are not only technically challenging but also important for the future of sustainable energy.
About the position
This role requires both technical understanding and a multidiscipline mindset. You will contribute to the timely delivery of projects and ensuring that the design is in accordance with regulatory and client requirements for technical safety. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with highly skilled multidisciplinary teams dedicated to delivering innovative and robust technical solutions for our clients.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Define the requirements for Fire and Gas (F&G) detection systems
- Develop Fire Protection Data Sheets (FPDSs)
- Prepare input for the Fire and Gas Cause & Effect matrix
- Verify the Fire and Gas layout within the 3D model
- Implement control measures for ignition sources
- Develop the requirements and hierarchy for the Emergency Shutdown (ESD) system
Qualifications
- Higher relevant technical education (BSc or MSc)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience and competence within Fire & Gas system design
- Knowledge of a range of technologies and solutions within technical safety
- Good knowledge of rules and regulations for technical safety in design
Personal qualities
- Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
- Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Actively seek advice, share your experiences, and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues
