Your Role
As our new Senior Customs Specialist, you will become an integral member of our Nordic Demand, Supply Planning (DSP) & Logistics team, which comprises 62 professionals committed to ensuring seamless supply from factories to customers. In this role, you will be based at our Nordic Head Office in Ørestad, Copenhagen, and report directly to the Nordic DSP & Logistics Manager. Key responsibilties will include:
- Managing customs-related inquiries from Nordic customs agents, local businesses, factories, third-party logistics (3PL) partners, government authorities, etc.
- Calculating customs duties for imports from outside the EU and Norway, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Overseeing quality assurance and veterinary requirements for products.
- Establishing robust customs handling processes for the Nordic region, ensuring compliance with EU and Nordic customs regulations.
- Collaborating closely with finance, logistics teams, and customs authorities to facilitate product flow and reporting.
- Ensuring accurate reporting on packaging, Green fees, taxes, etc.
- Evaluating newly created products (SKUs) and sharing relevant documentation with 3PL partners.
- Managing escalations for customs operational issues.
- Supporting customs audits and staying updated on legislative changes affecting operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is proactive and has strong interpersonal skills, as you will have many different stakeholders, both internally and externally. In addition to this, you...
- Hold a relevant educational background within, e.g., Business Administration, Law, Logistics, or similar.
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of customs-related experience, preferably from a multinational environment.
- Are proficient working in IT systems. Prior experience with TRACER, CUST, and SAP will be considered advantageous.
- Have strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Bring a thorough understanding of customs processes, including origin determination and classification.
- Show excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate in a complex stakeholder landscape.
- Are fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish will be considered a plus.
