Do you have a strong commitment to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and a desire to manage and support impactful initiatives that support communities in need? Join us as MHPSS Coordinator in Kyiv, Ukraine, where your expertise will enhance recovery, resilience, and mental well-being in partnership with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS).

Since 2014, Danish Red Cross (DRC) has supported URCS. Following the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, DRC has scaled up its operations to meet the urgent needs of affected populations. With MHPSS identified as a strategic priority, we are committed to addressing the growing needs through innovative and sustainable solutions.

We are now seeking a skilled MHPSS Coordinator to develop, manage and support MHPSS programme and projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful and lasting change in a dynamic and challenging environment.

As MHPSS Coordinator your key roles and responsibilities are:
Programme Development and Management:

  • Manage the MHPSS core project
  • Lead the design and implementation, monitoring, and reporting of DRC supported MHPSS programme and projects.
  • Act as the primary liaison between DRC and URCS MHPSS teams.
  • Support URCS in developing strategies and actionable plans to address MHPSS needs.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to URCS staff and volunteers in MHPSS.
  • Support the integration of MHPSS into broader URCS programmes and strategies.
  • Collaborate with and support URCS on developing policies, tools, and materials for MHPSS activities.

Coordination and Representation:

  • Foster collaboration with RCRC Movement partners, stakeholders, and other actors.
  • Represent DRC in coordination forums and ensure streamlined communication.
  • Promote cross-learning and the exchange of best practices within the Movement.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Develop and track indicators to ensure high-quality MHPSS programming.
  • Support donor reporting and proposal development for future funding.
  • Facilitate lessons learned and contribute to the development of new projects.

As MHPSS coordinator you will be based in Kyiv and become part of the Programmes Team in DRC country office in Ukraine. Finding solutions, ambitions and collaboration is key in our everyday work, whilst we have our eyes caught on quality, sustainability and developmental potentials. We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A relevant educational background in social sciences, psychology, or humanitarian studies.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in MHPSS programme development and management.
  • Proven expertise in training, mentoring, and capacity building.
  • Strong skills in project management, proposal writing, and donor relations.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Ukrainian is a strong asset.
  • Experience within the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is preferred.
