Operations Specialist – Domestic & International Parcel/Courier

Blue Water Shipping UK is taking the next step forward in growing our parcel/courier presence on the UK market. This exciting role will play a key part in driving our product development and operational capabilities on a strategically important product. Lead Operation on our Existing Courier Business
In this role you will take the lead and developing our existing courier business. Your responsibilities and deliverables in this role includes:

• Commercial champion – You will deliver new courier accounts and be able to upsell all modes of transportation where suitable.
• You will be a key driver in handling and developing our courier/parcel presence, volumes, and capabilities for the UK domestic and international shipments.
• Consolidate group volumes from other BU’s where possible to ensure best buying conditions for internal stakeholders.
• Driver of system adaptation (internal/external), ensuring utilization of our best-in-class MyBWS/Flex Courier platform.
• Commercial delivery on consignment increase
• Cooperation with our central courier product team to ensure best operational and commercial conditions for our expanding client base.

Commercial Driven Professional
You have experience from the industry and is a commercial driven professional.

Your qualifications and skills include:

• You are commercially driven and understand how to optimize profitability
• 5+ years in freight forwarding, preference given to road/courier background.
• You are comfortable with a high level of responsibility and want growth opportunities
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Functional knowledge of domestic and international courier/parcel/road consignments including ADR/IATA DG requirements.
• Good systems/IT capabilities and a willingness to undertake training to ensure you have full functional product knowledge/capability.
• Ability to cope and prioritize with a high workload, juggling multiple tasks at any given time.
