We are seeking a Program Director for our global programs and projects. Reporting to the VP of the Strategy Execution Office, you will oversee all aspects of our strategic development programs and integration initiatives, spanning several business units and high-profile external partners and collaborations. The position is in Hellerup and depending on the programs, you are working on, you can expect 5-20 days of traveling per year.
This role demands a visionary global program lead to drive high-quality, compliant projects and programs including alliance management. You will also support the department's knowledge of project management models and tools, and you will provide coaching, mentoring, and with motivation supervise project teams, and cultivate a collaborative, improvement-focused culture. The department has an agile way of working where you will be responsible for different sizes of projects and programs for a while – without changing the “single point of contact” setup.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead cross-functional programs and projects, including overseeing other project managers, from planning to execution.
- Develop strategies to align programs with technology, operations, and business objectives.
- Establish governance structures and processes to optimize resources and ensure efficiency.
- Define goals, set expectations, and delegate deliverables to teams and stakeholders.
- Act as an escalation point, resolving issues, managing dependencies, and ensuring critical outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
- Deliver progress reports, documentation, and presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Oversee and manage business partnerships, including contractual obligations and governance.
- Align internal teams and stakeholders to ensure partnership success and drive improvements.
- Recommend and implement changes to enhance collaboration and resolve challenges.
- Support the development of tools, templates, and practices to strengthen organizational capabilities.
- Conduct reviews to evaluate outcomes, capture lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement.
Skills and requirements
You hold an academic degree, preferably within life science or as a minimum an academic degree with work experience within pharma/biotech.
In addition to education:
- Experience and clear understanding of the overall drug development process of vaccines including manufacturing (PPQ and process optimization), and regulatory requirements with a focus on late clinical development and commercialized products
- Extensive knowledge of project management models and tools with several years of experience in successfully executing projects
- Great sense of accountability
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communicator
- Supports corporate initiatives by modeling the Bavarian Nordic DNA; employee engagement, and openness to change
