For MAN Energy Solutions, we are seeking a technology leader to head their Edge Platform department in Copenhagen. This is a rare opportunity to drive innovation in maritime technology while making a significant environmental impact.

About MAN Energy Solutions
MAN Energy Solutions is at the forefront of maritime innovation, leading the charge in digitizing ship engines to reduce carbon emissions. The Edge Platform team manages critical software deployments across over 15,000 vessels worldwide.

The role
You will lead a team of 15 technical professionals developing mission-critical edge computing solutions deployed across over 15,000 vessels worldwide. Driving a strategic transition from Windows to Linux-based systems, you will spearhead "The Digital Engine" initiative, enabling remote updates and enhanced cybersecurity across the fleet.

Working closely with global teams in Copenhagen and Aurangabad, you take part in shaping the technical vision and architecture of the platform. Your responsibilities will span from architectural design through deployment, with a particular focus on implementing Over-The-Air updates and advancing our cybersecurity capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing team
• Oversee platform deployment across 15,000+ vessels worldwide
• Lead OTA (over-the-air) update implementations for marine engine systems
• Drive cybersecurity initiatives and platform scalability
• Guide product development from architectural design through deployment
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with IT, Engineering, and R&D teams

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience in software development teams backed by a strong technical background in software development, electronics, or engineering. Your experience leading development teams and implementing software remotely with all the complexities the marine or similar environments provide will be key to your success. Previous exposure to remote device management and OTA solutions would be highly advantageous.

In addition, you excel at navigating complex stakeholder relationships across global teams.

Your Impact
As part of our R&D organization of more than 50 engineers, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of maritime technology. You'll work directly with IT, Engineering, and R&D teams to drive innovation in edge computing and vessel automation. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of creating a carbon-neutral future for maritime.
