Senior Signal Processing Engineer
Oticon Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Signal Processing Engineer to lead the development of our signal processing for bone conduction hearing aids. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in digital signal processing and audiology, as well as experience with deploying algorithms to a real-time system.
Newly created position
You will join a small and highly skilled team, working towards a new generation of bone conduction hearing aids independent from the technology previously used. The senior signal processing engineer position is a new addition to the team, intended to increase the capacity in our DSP development.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Participating in product development for innovative implantable hearing solutions
- Development of audio/signal processing features and algorithms for hearing enhancement
- Feature architecture, implementation, and verification
- Development for real-time embedded platform
- Prototyping and Proof of concept
- Working according to our Oticon Medical development cycle, which complies with regulatory requirements, to implement, optimize, verify, and document solutions.
Technical background
The ideal candidate should have at least a Master’s degree in electrical engineer, computer science or a related field. Besides, we expect that you can tick off most of the following:
- Audiology/Algorithm design using mathematical simulation languages (e.g. Matlab)
- +5 years of experience within audio processing and acoustic measurements
- Experience in real-time embedded systems, primarily audio
- Knowledge within at least one of the following areas will be beneficial; hearing loss compensation, feedback management, noise reduction, directionality, echo cancellation and acoustics
- Knowledge of good software practices, such as software design and test-driven development
As a person you are a self-starter who easily take initiative and drive projects forward. You often find creative solutions to problems, and you are resilient in the face of issues and setbacks. You enjoy teamwork and bring people along with your supportive way of interacting with others and your good communication skills.
Work environment
Although part of Demant, the Oticon Medical BAHS R&D organization only consists of 35 people, split between the headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden; Smørum, Denmark; and Sophia Antipolis, France.
Due to the size of our organization, we do not plan to develop everything in-house, but rather utilize subcontractors or strategic partners for parts of the development. Our strategy is to be small and agile, and to succeed in this task we need to make unconventional choices and be pragmatic.
This position is open for the office in Smørum, Denmark, where we are currently 10 people located.
Come join us!
You can look forward to a role filled with opportunities to learn and shape the future of bone-anchored hearing. We are developing products that truly make a difference for end users in a field ripe with potential for innovation.
If this piqued your interest, submit your application as soon as possible, as we review applications on an ongoing basis. Deadline for applications is January 28th, 2025. We only accept applications via our online recruitment system.
