Senior Physical IC Engineer

At GN, we are working on our next-generation chipset for use in our hearing instruments and other GN products. We are seeking a Senior Physical IC Engineer to join our team and assist with our next-generation chipset.
We have multiple IC projects running within our IC Team, both in mature and advanced nodes, offering opportunities for skill development within physical IC design.
You will become part of a diverse and skilled team comprising analog, digital, physical, and test IC engineers, working at the core of GN.
What will you be doing?
- RTL to GDS including floorplanning, synthesis, place and route
- Structured power optimization work (both physical only and in collaboration with digital designers)
- Static timing analysis
- Clock tree analysis, design and implementation
- Writing scripts in Python, C++, or TCL to automate design tasks and improve efficiency
- ESD protection, pad ring and RDL
- Cell characterization
- Working with other IC engineers to integrate different parts of the design and resolve issues across functional groups and projects
Sound good so far? Here’s what you’ll need to do well
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in integrated digital or analog electronics/computer science with several years of experience working with back-end/physical IC design.
- Experience with back-end tools, preferably:
- Siemens: Calibre DRC, LVS
- Synopsis: DC NXT, ICC II, PrimeTime PX, StarRC
- Experience with revision control using GIT and Perforce/ICmanage
- Experience scripting in TCL, Python, C++
In this role, it is beneficial to be curious by nature and structured in your approaches. You are a team member with good collaboration skills, and you approach your tasks with attention to detail. You have good communication skills in English in both speech and writing.
In this job, you will get the opportunity to contribute to the development of our next generation of chipset. And you will probably also learn new things along the way, as we will make sure to challenge you and your development in the process.
Starting Date:
March 2025 or as soon as possible.
Work Location:
Primarily on-site at the GN Headquarters in Ballerup with opportunities for hybrid work.
