Senior/Principal Laboratory Technician (Laborant) for Drug Discovery Preformulation
Gubra A/S
Are you experienced in preformulation and stability assays? Are you eager to apply your experimental skills and expertise in drug discovery research? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Gubra.
Gubra is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) to join our Preformulation Team within the Drug Profiling department. In this role, you will support both our internal and partnered drug discovery activities.
The Team
The Preformulation Team studies the physicochemical properties of novel peptide drug candidates, including solubility and physical/chemical stability, during the hit-to-lead and early development phases. We also support the Clinical Development department with early formulation and analytical expertise while contributing to Gubra’s automated drug screening platform, streaMLine. The department also provides bioanalysis expertise to advance Gubra’s drug discovery projects. Committed to innovation, we continuously develop preformulation assays to ensure the generation of high-quality data. The team consist of three scientists and one laboratory technician, collaborating closely within the department and across Gubra.
A Versatile Role with a Focus on Hands-On Laboratory Work
As a Laboratory Technician in our Preformulation Team, you will contribute to all stages of Gubra’s drug discovery programs by developing high-throughput assays and screening peptide drug candidates. You will collaborate closely with scientists and fellow laboratory technicians managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Performing solubility, chemical, and physical stability studies in early and late drug discovery projects using reverse-phase and size-exclusion UPLC, dynamic light scattering (DLS), fluorescence (including Thioflavin T assays), and UV-VIS plate readers.
- Conducting high-throughput physicochemical characterization of larger peptide drug libraries, including solubility, physical stability, and chemical stability studies for early drug discovery programs.
- Processing data and documenting experiments.
- Maintaining and organizing laboratory inventory in collaboration with fellow laboratory technicians to ensure smooth workflows.
Laboratory Technician with a Motivation for Teamwork
You thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork and knowledge sharing are key to great results and enjoyable workdays. With an open mindset, you are adaptable to change and willing to contribute to workflows across departments. You maintain an organized and structured approach to your work, with a strong dedication to delivering high-quality data.
In addition, you can check the following boxes:
- You hold a certified Laboratory Technician diploma or similar, preferably with 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with one or more techniques such as UPLC (RP and SEC), UV-FL microplate readers, and DLS in a drug discovery or drug development setting.
- Observant and proactive in the lab.
- Motivated to work with automatization, including pipetting robots/liquid handlers.
- Proficient in data handling and reporting.

We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.
Gubra’s activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two highly synergistic business areas: CRO Services and Discovery & Partnerships (D&P). We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline. Since 2023, Gubra is listed on NASDAQ Copenhagen.
Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging. In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics. Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development. Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.
People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of +250 employees located in Hørsholm, Denmark and Boston in the US.
