Lead process development across a range of modalities
Do you want to be an in-house subject matter expert on process development? Can you dig into scientific data and process activities for multiple dosage forms – from sterile liquids to oral solid doses?

As a Senior Process Development Manager, you will apply your process development experience and expertise while taking on project management tasks. You will work in cross-functional teams, lead process development and manufacturing activities, and interact with external partners and stakeholders.

We work on the development of drug products in a variety of dosage forms and modalities. Our work ranges from the early clinical phases through to submission and approval, and we deal with everything from peptides and small molecules to proteins, gene therapy, and, more recently, microbiome-based therapies.

“We can offer a wide range of tasks – and we’ll be looking at finding the right fit for your skillset. With our current projects, you’ll work more with early-stage than late-stage, at least initially, and most likely with small molecules and peptides,” elaborates Robert Furness, Senior Director of Product Development – Process and Manufacturing.

Your day at FerringYour focus will be on process development and IMP manufacturing, focusing on developing robust manufacturing processes that comply with regulatory requirements whilst meeting the expectations of commercial manufacturing.

Among your tasks will be to:

• Define and lead the process development activities for assigned projects from pre-clinical phases up to submission and approval

• Represent process development and GMP manufacturing in the CMC project team, e.g., define and execute process development strategy

• Establish and support process development activities at contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), assuring adherence to agreed timelines and quality standards

• Author and review technical reports and regulatory documents (e.g., IND/BLA submissions) and respond to authority questions

• Facilitate technology transfers to the Ferring commercial manufacturing organization

Your primary work location will be our state-of-the-art International PharmaScience Center in Copenhagen – though you can also work from home up to two days a week.

Behind our innovation – there’s you Most importantly, you bring process development and GMP manufacturing expertise. However, the role also requires an aptitude for project management, as you will coordinate activities with external and internal partners.

You will also need to apply structured problem-solving tools for troubleshooting and work according to current SOPs and quality standards. Taking on this senior role, you should have:

• Extensive experience in process development and IMP manufacturing

• Experience with primary pack development

• Strong project management skills in a scientific setting

• An M.Sc. in pharmaceutical process science or a related field, PhD is an asset

• Collaborative flair and an interest in working with people from different cultures

• Excellent communication skills in English
