We are seeking testers for the Video Systems Development Centre at GN/Jabra, based in Ancona, Italy.About the Role:
Join us in our mission of Bringing People Closer. As an Embedded Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the technical maturity of our products. You will be responsible for testing new features, conducting regression tests, and overseeing system integration activities throughout the development process. You will have a close collaboration with the developer and testers located in Ancona, plus the other test teams located in the headquarter in Denmark and Asia.
In the role as Embedded Software Tester, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will:
- Prepare test plans for new system features and technologies, defining the strategy and execution plan to ensure early and incremental integration
- Report and provide visibility on system integration status and results.
- Report and track defects, take ownership of the defects from start to end, be part of triage handling.
- Support the product development from scoping, system requirements, development, verification, and release.
The Team You Will be Part of
- You will be part of a global engineering organization with skilled hardware, firmware and tester team members focusing on audio/video products
- Your team works closely with the Video Business Unit to provide the “innovation muscle” and maximize growth. Your team owns e2e accountability for delivery of innovation to BU, delivering products on time, cost, scope and quality, in full alignment with the Video Systems Division and roadmaps.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
- Ensure that all releases meet quality standards and are free of critical defects.
- Ensure that all releases comply with certification requirements from major players as Microsoft Teams/Zoom/Google.
- Develop test cases and prioritize testing activities.
- Implement automation tests for new functionalities.
- Manually or automatically execute the test cases and report defects, define severity and priority for each defect and provide reproducibility information and logs.
- Verify that defects are fixed.
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you:
- Have a Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields or similar specialized High School qualifications.
- Have a strong understanding of embedded software development processes, tools, and technologies.
- Are able to define tests associated to features.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills, to establish a good rapport, generate enthusiasm and negotiate priorities.
- Demonstrate a good written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a sense of humor, tact, and flexibility in changing situations, are strong in forming relationships, great teammate, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiatives.
- Are willing to join an engaged engineering teams with a culture of feedback, open communication, and team orientation.
- Preferably have a proficiency in test reporting tools (e.g.,Azure DevOps, JIRA ).
- Preferably have Python programming skills and experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Are possibly familiar with agile development methodologies (e.g., SAFe)
