Global Safety Lead, Lead Specialist, Global Medical Safety

H. Lundbeck A/S

Do you have a solid background in patient safety and clinical development? Do you want to be part of an innovative science team aiming to develop transformative therapies for the treatment of brain diseases?

If so, you could be our new Safety Lead in Global Medical Safety!

Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?
As Global Safety Lead you will be strategically managing safety surveillance and risk minimisation activities for an assigned compound/product(s). You will be responsible for setting the direction for safety evidence generation and risk minimisation, for planning and interpretation of safety data analyses, benefit-risk assessments, and providing medical-scientific input to regulatory documents. You will chair the cross-functional Safety Committee(s) which have the mandate to set and, where relevant, change the overall safety evidence generation and risk management strategy for the respective compound/product. Thus, you will be working independently as well as in collaboration with various stakeholders and team members. This requires establishment of network within the R&D organisation, staying abreast of developments in neuroscience and patient safety fields, and adhering to the highest quality and ethical standards.

Your future team
Global Medical Safety consists of more than 30 Safety Leads and Safety Scientists, and the department has the global responsibility for safety evidence generation, safety surveillance and risk minimisation of all Lundbeck’s products in clinical development as well as marketed products. The department spreads across the US, Singapore and Denmark and you would join the colleagues in Denmark who are responsible for Lundbeck’s development products and strategic brands. The team is characterised by a highly dedicated, professional, and international environment where teamwork and collaboration are highly valued.

Global Medical Safety is part of Global Patient Safety which is comprised of approximately 100 skilled colleagues. Our team is committed to safeguarding the health of patients using our medicines and advancing the development of innovative therapies in neuroscience.

In this role, you will work in an international setting with ample opportunities to enhance your personal and professional skills. This is a unique chance to collaborate with committed colleagues who are engaged in developing treatments that improve the lives of individuals with brain diseases, contributing to Lundbeck’s mission of being a focused innovator.

What you bring to the team
Our preferred candidate has the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in life sciences (e.g. MD, M.Sc. Pharmacy, M.Sc. Human Biology)
  • Solid medical-scientific knowledge and ability to make sound medical decisions in an environment of high uncertainty and with critical impact for patients’ well-being
  • Solid experience (at least 8 years) within patient safety/pharmacovigilance and clinical development, including experience with safety aggregate safety data analyses and filings
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of medical concepts and scientific methodology
  • Excellent understanding of global PV regulatory environment
  • Experience in neuroscience and participation in health authority interactions will be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influential and organizational skills

Our promise to you
We offer you a challenging position with an opportunity for further professional and personal development while being part of a great team with different scientific backgrounds and cultural diversity.
